Nice one mate, let us know what your impressions are after your first listen! I got the download version (with the pre-order) in december so I've been listening to it ever since, had to wait till April though for the box set to come to get the rest of the tracks!

(in reply to your [url=http://www.last.fm/group/Music+Advice+Center/forum/40095/_/172885/_/9329611]post[/url]): Well, [artist]Throbbing Gristle[/artist] and [artist]My Bloody Valentine[/artist] are British and from around that period. But I don't think that's what you mean. Perhaps you'll like stuff like [artist]Sex Gang Children[/artist], seeing you have Joy Division. And of course, there is the rise of metal. Anyway, if you have an idea of a style or genre you're looking for, I might be able to help.

Hey fella, great to hear it! I see they've nearly become your number 1 played band. I also thanked my mate for getting me into the Jam! I recommended "atlantiluna" the Toy Dolls and she got hooked, so between you and her thats 100% success rate so far. :)

Glad to hear it mate. :) Quadrophenia is a great album, much prefer it over Tommy. Bell Boy and 5.15 probably my fav tracks. If you like the Who, check out 'Who's Next' probably my fav Who album

Just got into their music about a month ago! I like the songs Manipulator, Recrimination & T-Time! They really are cool. I would classify them more as 2 tone though. :)

Its a great album, to me NMTB is the definative punk album. Everything after that was just a cheap imitation. The guitar riff from 'Holidays in the sun' was ripped directly from the Jams 'In the city'. The Sex pistols were big fans of the Jam, and vice versa. Paul Weller has always said on record that the pistols were a huge influence to the Jam

Hey thats great news :) 'Circus' is another Bruce Foxton special, a gap filler in the album but a bloody good one at that! In the city is a lot different isn't it, their early punk influences are obvious in that album. Compare that to 'The Gift' and it's like listening to two different bands. That's what I like about their 6 albums, its a steady progression and change

That surprises me actually, I have to be in the right mood for Mr Clean because its slower. :) Mine is probably 'To be someone', altho 'Tube Station' comes a very close second place

Great stuff :) So out of all the five hours listening, what is your favourite song from both of the albums?
