Hey man, sorry for the extremely late reply I agree completely with the points you make about the differences in the big four Seattle bands, and I'm glad you liked Temples! When I first listened to them, I thought it was a band from the late 60's lol I listened to The Music as you suggested, and I really liked the tracks Getaway (love how that track opens), take the long road and walk it, and disco among a few others. I definitely wish I had discovered them before, but there's still a number of tracks that I need to listen to :) Thanks for the recommendation!

No problem! I think this was actually the first LP they did with Mutt Lange. Coming not long after Back in Black might explain the similarities in guitar tones and vocal phrasing occasionally. I'm not saying they sound exactly like AC/DC because you can here Joe Elliot's distinctive voice for the most part, just some similarities. Bringin' on the Heartbreak could fit onto Pyromania no problem in my opinion with it's layered vocals and big chorus, but that aside this is still the heavier rock version of Def Lep before they went all out to conquer the pop world.

Hey Zoltari, I just bought High n' Dry, Def Leps 2nd album. It has the same lineup as the first album and is very similar in style, but maybe a touch slicker. I keep thinking it's Brian Johnson from AC/DC singing. Joe Elliot sounds different to me. Check it out see what you think?

Good to see you again! I'm a very big Keys fan as you can tell but I actually haven't been listening to much of Nirvana lately, but I admit they're my most favourite of the big four. I think all four bands have a distinctive sound and there isn't much in common between them, other than the Grunge tag. I love Psychedelic Rock and those bands that you mentioned, do you know Temples? If you don't you should check them out, they're similar to Tame Impala but I'd say they're more on the alternative side. I sadly don't know much of the stuff you've been listening to past month, what would you suggest?

Hey Zoltari Dude! Yeah a lot of Def Lep recently! The first album is definitely the harder rocking, but I do like some super-slick 80's productions like Hysteria. Great songs with a good sound, even if a lot of my friends think it's rubbish LOL

Whata wut. Man, so many years later and your musical tastes soldier right on through as though immune to the ravages of time. Your even still into Japanese modal jazz, man I don't know how to stick to your guns so well with a taste as divergent as that.

Hey Zoltari, glad you got around to Eddie Hazel and early Funkadelic! Really cool stuff, very much in the mold of Hendrix.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. But you're definitely missing some great music! :) I also was sad when they split. This band was really something special and the combination of Liam and Noel was truly unique. But for me personally, honestly, Liam's voice has been absolutely painful to listen to live in the last years...so I also see it in a different way. It gives Noel the opportunity to create his visions completely on his own and to shine in a new way. And it's wonderful. As for Liam...I don't really care that much about Beady Eye to be honest...
