Lesser known classics...

Ok, classics may be too strong a word, but to me these songs mean the world. Maybe I am too close to the lyrics or sentiment, maybe they relate to people or times, but to me they are classics...

Green - this is for the lyrics, it is a great track, but when he sings
"if you want to be free,
please don't fall for me,
I can be anyone but your friend.
"
it, in strange ways allows me to think of parallels...

A Star In Nobody's Picture - another lyric one...
"She's a star in nobody's picture,
she's an extra in her own life.
"

I'll Miss You Till I Meet You - there had to be a Dar Williams track here, and this one just seems to remind me of the fact that we always have images of people that we like, and often-times they are not the person we know...

'74-'75 - just a simple nostalgia one, and it feels so right...

Sofsticated Fuck Princess Please Leave Me Alone - a round-about last.fm find... I can't even remember the path, but it is just filled with the bubbling anger and resentment that I relate to...

Weight upon Your Soul - one of the greatest (imho) underrated tracks, it just... is indefinable, you need to hear it... slightly country, slightly melancholy, slightly swooping, slightly simple, but all perfection...

Build Me up Buttercup - simply makes me smile, and isn't that a great thing for a song to do?

The Power of Love - what can I say, one of the greatest love songs...
"I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down I'll be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you
"

You to Me Are Everything - I see myself in this song, is that egotistical?
"You to me are everything
The sweetest song
That I could sing...
...To you I guess
I'm just a clown
Who picks you up
Each time you're down...
...You give me just
A taste of love to
Build my hopes upon
You know you got
The power girl
To keep me holding on
So now you got
The best of me
Come on and
Take the rest of me...
"

Ben & Jason are great. Under-rated though.
