*is sad that there are not stars next to Robert Randolph and Umphrey's McGee* Randolph is an AMAZING guitar player. He will blow you away. Make some time for that dude. If I were going, I'd also star Medeski Martin & Wood.

the disco biscuits are supposed to be amazing live, one of those bands that's really good live but doens't sound as good recorded for some reason. my brother's seen them a few times. and IM SO JEALOUS. gosh.

Answer: You won't be able to see everybody because they will overlap. I think there are five stages (of significance) running at the same time. But then what they will do is shut down those smaller stages (which are actually HUUUGGE tents) and it will be like only one stage (with Radiohead or somebody of similar caliber) or maybe the main stage and a second stage, but not all the other ones. Bonnaroo is awesome though I went last year and think I pretty much plan to go again. There's so much going on, they even have tents that are like a bar and there's even a band, like a bar band, inside the bar/tent. P.S. keep your stash in the trunk until you are fully inside and parked.

momo- disco biscuits. added. what is this seattle business? i would LOVE to go if i can get time off of work (ahh i work for disney now, kind of, more info later!) insidethehatch- yeah i heard about the car searching, etc. thanks for letting me know about the overlap... i guess i need to heavily prioritize my list with like 1. HAVE to see 2. want to see 3. could see if i had time. but like, there's a schedule and stuff that they give you? thanks for helping!!

Yes you get a nice booklet with a lot of ads (thanks) and schedules and the coolest thing is you also get a CD. Last year we got a double CD set and I didn't even play it until I got home! And then I listened to all these bands that I could have seen, but didn't. So listen to the CD when you get in, if they offer them again, and you can be even conflicted about who you want to see. And what is the downside of too many choices for happiness?

You need to see either Steve Earle or Son Volt. Steve Earle is great live, and Son Volt is the inspiration to many alt-country style bands. Also, Amadou & Mariam are really big in Europe right now, for good reason. They are West African musicians. You can probably find some mp3s of them out there.

I would totally encourage you to see Robert Randolph's show. He is so fun to watch and everything he does makes you want to laugh and dance and groove all night. Seu Jorge might also be a real chill show to see but looks like there are lots of other great bands that might take priority.
