So, all the kids are in bed, save the baby asleep on my chest. The hubby is out for the night and I have nothing better to do than check out Last.fm a little deeper. After spending hours browsing (can you audibly browse?) tags like cool and chill, I come to the sudden realization that I really, really like the bossa nova sound like that of Joao Gilberto.

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, considering I was raised on a variety of musical styles. I like the Gipsy Kings and the cool jazz of guys like Dave Brubeck and Stan Getz. And, well, there's something about that bossa nova beat and the smooth Brazilian vocals that makes me want to kick back and chill. Ahhh...
