13. Aug. 2014, 3:08Tue 12 Aug – Neutral Milk Hotel
Overwhelmingly emotional. The mood switched up constantly.
26. Jul. 2014, 11:28Thu 24 Jul – Flosstradamus, Plastician, Stooki Sound
Plastician and Stooki Sound killed it. Great sets.
Flosstradamus flopped, and the crowd turned to shit as soon as they came on.
20. Jun. 2014, 14:07Thu 19 Jun – Laurel Halo + Shackleton + Demdike Stare
Both the best and worst place to drop acid.
14. Jun. 2014, 16:45Fri 13 Jun – BANGFACE BOAT PARTY
Mental jungle and gabber all night with an amazing view all around you.
95% of the people there had no idea who they were.
23. Mai. 2014, 3:30Thu 22 May – Gazelle Twin @ Green Door Store
Great venue, GDS always is, apart from the bar prices but it's Brighton and it was a free gig so fair enough.
Really enjoyed playing my set, pleasantly surprised by the large turnout. Fantastic sound engineer, set up was a breeze.
Gazelle Twin was, of course, phenomenal. Loving the new show, much murkier than her last album. Sounds grimey, even.
9. Apr. 2014, 10:42Sat 5 Apr – BANGFACE BELGIUM
Unlike any other show I've ever been to.
Everyone tore the roof off, but Krome & Time were a personal fav of the night.
'Insane' doesn't do Bangface justice.
14. Mär. 2014, 14:01Sat 8 Mar – Tokyo Dub 2014
Amazing. First time I've been to motion and it truly is a fantastic venue. Really gives off a grimey warehouse vibe esp. in The Tunnel.
Line up was excellent and although I spent most of the night in the DnB/Grime areas, I had a brief wonder into every room and loved the vibe of all of them.
The Bug was a great headliner to choose, this is the third time I've seen him and the best so far. Flowdan, as usual, delivered accordingly. The thing I love about Bug shows are how noisy they get. He has a unique set up for a DJ, turntables set up alongside an analog synth and 2 Kaoss Pads, producing additional beats and more often basslines over the stripped down versions of his own instrumentals. Awesome set.
All in all I loved the night, even the crowd were great, everyone got into it.
23. Feb. 2014, 12:24Sat 22 Feb – Danny Brown
I love Danny Brown's energy and enthusiasm on stage, especially given his recent depression and apparent detox, regardless of anything you can always rely on him to put on a great show, and a a great show it was, but I've seen him 3 times now, and this was definitely the worst.
Not DB's fault at all, more the venue, I normally quite like Coalition, but it's clearly not a venue that serves Hip-hop very well, the main issue however was how many people they let in, the building was ridiculously over-capacity and the standing area was more aggressive than a Metal show.
For the most part, the crowd was great, but the few people that weren't seemed adamant to ruin the entire standing area for everyone.
At the end of the day, Danny played a great set, and I really enjoyed it, but too many coked up "lads" and a venue that was so cramped I could barely breathe, sort of spoiled it for me.
Highlights: Express Yourself, Dope Song, Blunt After Blunt
16. Feb. 2014, 11:12Sat 15 Feb – High Focus Records
sick night, nice venue, spot on sound engineer, chill crowd.
everyone smashed it, not a single off-beat performance.
