Right first thing first, i have a massive problem, because at the time i wasn't into this album but now i am a huge fan, so it gets a mention straight off the bat with no number…

Eternal Nightcap - The Whitlams

This, as you will know if you seen my charts, is one of the greatest albums ever made, No Aphrodisiac, You Sound Like Louis Burdette, Buy Now, Pay Later (Charlie No. 2), Charlie #1, Charlie #3 and of course Melbourne. And they hale from a suburb in my home town of Sydney.

Anyway, getting on with the count down, and disclaimer blah blah blah embarrasment.

Natalie Imbruglia fresh from the set of Australian soap Neighbours (which I still watch, yes i'm aware i'm a tragic), a great album with tracks like Torn, Big Mistake and the haunting Smoke made this album a classic.

Embarrasment again and a double at number 4 for the embarrasing artists :)

I can't imagine your opinion of me is very high at the moment, especially if you have read 1997 too. But in my defence i was still a teenager. Everybody (Backstreet's Back) was my favorite by far off Backstreet's Back and Turn Back Time and Doctor Jones from Aquarium. Truth be known these two albums are probably still a bit of a guilty pleasure… Everyone has them, you're lying if you're saying you don't.

#3 Ray Of Light - Madonna

Right, back to the nitty gritty! Before you ask, no i am not gay but i have huge respect for Madonna. This album was one of her bests in my opinion and the first single off it Frozen may be my highest played Madonna song (it's actually not, i just checked, but it should be!! :-p). Title track Ray of Light, Drowned World/Substitute For Love and The Power Of Goodbye are also highlights.

#2 Americana - The Offspring

Some people say they sold out with this album, but i really like it. My favorite track is The Kids Aren't Alright, closely followed by Why Don't You Get A Job? and the epic Pay The Man.

#1 Yourself Or Someone Like You - Matchbox Twenty

Or Matchbox 20 as they were known back then… Another one of the all time great albums. I think my favorite from this one is Real World, closely followed by Long Day, 3 AM and Push. I am also a huge fan of Rob Thomas' solo career.

Quite a few miss out here; City Of Angels soundtrack is the first to come to mind, my favs from that Uninvited by Alanis Morissette, Iris by Goo Goo Dolls and Angel by Sarah McLachlan. Also, All Saints by All Saints and Chef Aid: The South Park Album. Be proud i managed to avoid temptation to put two greatest hits collections in: Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael and The Best Of 1980-1990 by U2.
