• I'm in a funk

And even Grand Funk Railroad isn't helping!

The radio preset for the local classic rock station is just about worn out and my mood isn't picking up at all. Super Junior were no use. The Supremes did nothing! (Although an accidental listen to a cover of the Rolling Stones' Wild Horses by the Flying Burrito Brothers on someone else's XM helped a little.)

What this calls for is some peppy, happy, toe-tapping, can't-help-grinning music. Maybe something with mariachi horns! What would you recommend?

I would just like to point out that those tracks at the top of my list for the week ending 11 November are the sum total of the music I have access to at work. Hence, the relatively insanely large number of times I listened to something like The Pirate Song in a single week.

Of course, this excuse does not cover things like Fall Out Boy and Super Junior songs because thank God what plays in the CD player in the car doesn't get scrobbled.

Except that I just told you about it. :D:

    ...I miss my LJ. :(

I feel like I should be ashamed of how much I listen to Super Junior.

    I'm not, but still.

(Seriously, I can't stop listening to them. It's rapidly becoming a problem. Is it possible that they have discovered some way of transmitting addictive and illicit substances through their music? You can't deny that Miracle is aural crack. You just can't.)

Now if I could just remember my LJ password, my flist could be the lucky recipients of my ramblings and kpop squee.

Lucky being a relative term, obviously.

Part of it is the excitement of a new E Street track and album and tour. Most of it's the fact that this is a guitar-driven, drum-pounding, toe-tapping, dancing in my chair, can't stop singing along song of awesome.

When does the new album drop? ...can it be now?

Just ignore that image on my profile - while I love The Who to an unhealthy degree, nothing and no one will ever top The Stones. World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band? yes Yes YES.

Exile on Main Street gives me honest-to-God goosebumps. It's raw and crowded and there's some new sound jumping out at me every time I listen. In fact, listening on these new headphones just made me realize that Keith's doing a reedy backup vocal line on Torn and Frayed. How did I miss that all these years? (Also, Nicky Hopkins' piano is totally kicking my ass. Just FYI.)

Actually, there's a ton more I could write but, well, Tumbling Dice just started so I pretty much have to dance around the room like a moron now. It's, like, a law or something.

By the way, if you've stumbled in here by accident, hi! I'm usually much scarier. Heh.
