The genius that is Seth Lakeman. I've had his older album, Kitty Jay for a fair while now and loved it from the first listening (I really think it should have won the Mercury Music Prize). It's folk…yet it's also inexplicably cool.
My favourite tunes from Kitty Jay are:
Kitty Jay
The Storm
Henry Clark
The Streamers (The Streamers is just so wonderfully sunny)
I also went into Amersham town today at luncheon and purchased his new album, Freedom Fields. I've already listened to it several times and am also loving it! :D I'd probably say this one seems a bit darker than the previous album (but, then again, isn't every album?) and he seems to be coming a bit obsessed with war and the military and all that malarky. S'all good though, as there are some tunes on here too.
For example:
The Charmer
The White Hare
King And Country
The Band Of Gold
Everyone should get both the albums, 'cause they rule. Also, I'm seeing him live in a couple of weeks! :D mmmfolkeh
