1. All That Remains - 94 plays
All That Remains took the Number 1 spot this week. With the leakage of their forthcoming album, The Fall of Ideals (see my previous journal entry), I couldn't help but get in a good few listens. All That Remains have yet to fail me as an amazing band - from the fervent melodeath stylings of Behind Silence and Solitude, through the metalcore masterpiece This Darkened Heart, and now with The Fall of Ideals, ATR deliver with every release.

2. Lamb of God - 32 plays
I have been listening to my WMP (version 11 Beta, of course) on shuffle for the past week or two, and I do a good deal of skipping over songs that I don't really feel like listening to. Lamb of God, it seems, have tended to show up more than other bands lately, and for what reason I cannot say. Perhaps it's because I haven't listened to them much in a while, and their killer thrash is unbeatable.

3. The Black Dahlia Murder - 28 plays
It seems that The Black Dahlia Murder nearly always find their way onto my Weekly Top 5, which is probably also directly connected with the fact that they rest at the very top of my Overall chart as well. I just can't ever seem to escape the searing melodies, howling screeches, deathly growls, and horrific lyrics that TBDM deliver in earnest.

4. Rammstein - 25 plays
My all-time favorite band made it to the Number 4 spot this week, meaning they fared very well against other bands for control of my skippage on WMP. It's not all that surprising, though - just take a listen to the band, and if you don't fall in love with them as well, then you're going straight to hell.

5. Children of Bodom - 23 plays
Children of Bodom round off the Top 5 this week. Their infectious blend of manic keys and frenzied guitar solos is almost inescapable, and making it to the Top 5 on any last.fm user's account is like child's play for this Finnish wonder.
