Has anyone outside of Chicago (or perhaps Austin) heard of Poi Dog? They've been around for almost 20 years. They've been based in Chicago for about 12 years or so now, and were based in Austin for a while before that. I know they perform in Chicago quite a bit, but I'm not sure if many people outside of Chicago know them. That's where they hit it big, locally at least.

I own one CD by them ("Natural Thing"), which I hadn't listened to in ages. I pulled it out today. I forgot how much I like it! I guess they just released (or are about to release?) a Greatest Hits CD, which I'll have to get as well.

I'm not sure how exactly you'd describe their "style". They are kind of a "mini orchestra" band has been described as folk rock, among other styles. I haven't heard many of their songs outside of the 1 CD I own, but I guess their sound has changed a little over the years.

Anyway, from the songs of theirs I've heard, I really like them. They supposedly put on a pretty good live show as well.
