Dustball, a one-man creative team with frequent guest creators, has released the first two in a series of amazingly funny parody music videos. The concept is simple: Dustball writes new lyrics to existing radio songs (á la "Weird Al" Yankovic); Dustball's new parody songs narrate the actual music videos for the original songs. Each video features subtitles at the bottom so we don't have to strain our ears to catch each joke. Apart from the subtitles, the original videos are unmodified. The songs sound genuine (also á la Weird Al), and the songs are funny, especially when coupled with the videos. Here are the first two:
Take On Me (originally by a-ha)
Head Over Heels (originally by Tears for Fears)

Into It. Over It. or Into It. Over It as the podcast tracks are tagged, is a project by Evan Thomas Weiss.
Into It. Over It. immediately reminded me of Dashboard Confessional (Christopher Ender carrabba). The sound of Into It. Over It.'s music is similar to that of Dashboard Confessional. Each band consists of a single member. Each of these single members came from a once more-popular band: Into It. Over It. from Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start and Dashboard Confessional from Further Seems Forever.
A google search for "into it over it" "dashboard confessional", however, only returns me 5 results. One is a fangroup for the band Train. Another is a b-sides thread for vinyl collectors.
Into It. Over It. is releasing one song a week (on Thursday) for a year. He also posts lyrics and a short story about each song on his webpage. Tomorrow may be the last song of this project.
After the year is over, the songs will still be a free download for a few weeks (until October 2, I believe). After that, Into It. Over It. will release a for-sale rerecorded version of 2 discs of his favorite songs from the project. From there the future of the project is unknown.
I just wanted to connect Into It. Over It. to Dashboard Confessional while the music is still free. Check it out if you're so inclined.

6. Mai. 2007, 20:49I have decided to streamline my friends section on here and limit it to people who I know in real-life, who I knew before last.fm. Please don't be offended if I removed you as a friend on here (Regnowsin who introduced me to The Floyds and Creamy & minutz3 from the Teetotalers group that I started) or if I deny anyone's friend requests.
Feel free to comment on this.
