In 2004 I was completely taken by suprise by Now Here is Nowhere by the Secret Machines. I'm quite slow on the musical uptake and usually hear of bands by word of mouth but I caught a listen to the first single to be lifted from the album Nowhere Again which hooked me instantly and I went out the next day and purchashed the album.
To my amazement the album wasn't just back to back 3 to 4 minute indie songs but a compendium of lengthy thoughtful contemporary prog rock masterpieces which is exactly what my ears were craving…
