Ok, just got the week count and I viewed it and didn't think anything significant, but then I was reallllly bored (it's raining out…so…*shrug*) so I was looking at some of my friends week counts. Most people listen to 50-75 unique artists per 200-300 tracks it seems. My count for this week was 1300 some tracks, with 20 unique artists.
AND to make it even better, 7 of those 20 artists were listened to under 10 times each (some of them only once or twice).
AND from those 20 artists? I listened to 196 unique tracks.
So I pretty much listened to the same couple hundred songs a few hundred times each by about a dozen different artists.
Which is ironic since most of them are all experimental bands…it seems as of late…my appetite for experimental music knows no boundaries of repetition or "break time for other other bands to get a chance"
But it does prove that true experimental bands out there like Mr. Bungle, Peeping Tom, Lovage, and even the heavier ones like Arsonists Get All The Girls, Dance Club Massacre, and Unexpect are truly so experimental, exciting, fun, and refreshing to listen to…that you'll never get sick of it.
And if you've got a problem with it, then you can Meet Me In The Pub For A Shot Of Dignity
for anyone curious, the other 5 bands of the "experimental dozen" were:
Faith No More
Deadsy
Spineshank
Depeche Mode
Polkadot Cadaver
Tomahawk
(hmm..ok so it was 13 bands…so it's a baker's dozen then)
