glad to see I'm not the only one who likes both the arty punky things and the crusty, d-beat-y things

Hi again :) In Venezuela, supper tends to be a little lighter than lunch -yep, that's the "big meal"-, or just as light as breakfast. I don't like eating that much for dinner -or at least frequently I try not to- because I can't sleep very well, I feet quite vibrant. Also, I must say that soymilk isn't a drink I consume ALL the time because it's not very easy to find it here, it's an ephemeral product -sometimes it's on the shelf, sometimes it's not-. I tried to do it myself, but I really couldn't get it. By the way, I'm taking for breakfast yoghurt with wheat germ and brewer's yeast. These two ingredients have a high content of iron, protein, minerals and group B vitamins, plus many other important to consider. I put a few lemon juice drops so the vitamin C helps the organism to iron absorption. I will take into account your recommendation, it sounds quite awesome. I guess I'm gonna have to make my own almond milk, some vegan products almost don't even exist here. :-/

Hey! Sorry not to have answered a few days ago. Thanks for your note. Well... About my dinner, there's not too much to say. I always eat a fruit or drink a soymilk glass. When I started with this on January 2009, I was doing it because of the animals. However, later I realized I was being a jerk not to have good reasons for it. It's not OK to say "Ohh, I love animals, that's why I don't eat meat" and feel better saying that when I'm a dairy products and eggs consumer. It's worse to make suffer an animal during his entire life than five hours on the road to the slaughterhouse and the moment of death. So today I really couldn't go back to my past eating habits 'cause I see a corpse on the plate and in general any kind of meat is disgusting. Here in Venezuela it's easy to be an ovo-lacto-vegetarian, because we consume a lot of beans and cheese and it's not hard at all to find fresh vegetables. However, it would be very hard to be a vegan, specially when I live with three meat eaters. :)

well, Roisin (probably you know, that she was a lead vocal in Moloko) make something around electric pop. She publish 2 solo albums: "Ruby Blue" in 2005 (my favourite one) and "Overpowered" in 2007. I saw her concert once, in Poland, and it was something really amazing. She`s got a power :)

Absolutely! I actually can't wait to go back out there (believe it or not!). I think I took a liking to being in a new place. Okay, so the brown recluse problem in Kansas scares me, but other than that... :-) And if you're out here doing your Ph.D, then we shall hang out here. Oh and another benefit of us being friends on last.fm? I get to discover some great punk rock music! :D Thanks for befriending me here.

Über mich

I'm Thea, audiophile, turophile, bibliophile, polyglot. In simpler English, I like music, cheese, books, and speaking multiple languages. I find that last.fm is an excellent avenue for connecting with others who are particular about what they listen to (yes, that encompasses both snobs and casual listeners). I finished an M.A. in French literature (with honors!!!) last year, and I'm currently tutoring at a big state university and applying to PhD programs. I seem to have lots of time, but I actually don't, apparently. I don't get on here as much as I did about a year ago. Therefore, please do not take offense if you write to me and it takes me a long time to reply. As an adolescent, I was working toward a career in music journalism before realizing that academia was my calling, but I have not forgotten my first (vocational) love and enjoy talking to others about music. If you're sick of talking about music, you can talk to me about other topics as well, if you wish, especially about what you've been reading, experimental film and theater, cooking, comics and graphic novels, visual art, current affairs/politics/social concerns, sketch comedy, writing, swimming, playing badminton, or breakfast cereal, as these are other interests dear to me. I live with my fiancé and our cat in a mid-sized Midwestern college town, where I work at the university, but I have seen most of this country and 8 countries in Europe, having studied abroad twice and traveled around a little aside from that. I hope to make friends from all over the world, since I plan to travel more in the future and enjoy visiting folks in new places and getting their insights on the places they live. I am especially interested in meeting other people with disabilities, leftists, people who enjoy really bad jokes, those who are trying (and hopefully succeeding) at eating vegan or vegetarian, academics, record (that means those big 12" LPs) buyers and collectors, and people who are nerdy about at least one thing, particularly about music.
OK, mijn Nederlands is echt kak. Wanneer je me helpen wil, mijn Nederlands to verbeteren, dat's cool. Anders kunnen we Engels spreken! ;)
