[= Nice! I think ZJ and Foetus are supposed to be doing a set together.

I didn't really like Mine is No Disgrace at first - I don't really like when Thirlwell adds sludge to his sound (like Wiseblood, for example). Without his trademark sonic diversity, he loses a lot of his charm, but I do find it getting stuck in my head now. Thirlwell delivered some catchy vocal hooks and Buzzo's characteristic riffs make me coo like a baby. It's the best I could have hoped for out of a marriage of the two artists. York is absolutely terrible, the worst thing he's ever attached his name to. I haven't heard his track with Pigface, but I'm extremely curious, since I like Pigface. Well, some Pigface. I'm keen for Martin Atkins drum style, and he's turned out some good stuff under the Pigface title over the years, but he's released such an overwhelming wall of shit these past few years that I have to check to make sure I'm not listening to the latter day Revolting Cocks.

I think the best would either be the song with the Melvins (as a huge Melvins fan, I'm biased) which is on Damp and the Melvins album The Crybaby or the Nurse With Wound song Brained by Falling Masonry which is basically Jim spazzing out for ten-ish minutes over some minimalist noise free jazz.

I have a handful of the tracks off of Sink already - I downloaded a bundle of tracks off of early singles and such. JG is one of the few I would feel really terrible about pirating from, but these were so hard to find that I had to. As for Hydroze Plus - well, I'm not a big fan of his collaborations. I thought his songs with Rotoskop were merely okay, his song with the Melvins was entertaining (and certainly better than the Melvins' other songs with guest vocalists) but nowhere near the top of the heap for two of my favorite artists, Wings off Flies with Nick Cave was meh, and Wiseblood featured the worst elements from the Swans and mid-era Foetus... and I dig Roli Mossman. I'll probably eventually pick it up as a completionist - but it's a low priority. I'd love to hear Thirlwell collaborate with certain artists - Secret Chiefs 3 or Nils Frykdahl and Dan Rathburn for example - but he just isn't able to blend his sound with others to my liking.

I've been thinking very recently that yeah, You're Trying to Break Me can be classified somewhere as "industrial," but to to label the album that based on one track would mean DAMP is also a big band album. Heh.
