Not sure if you've seen the new Ghost video, for "Year Zero." Check it out...def NSFW but sweet. (prepare yourself for some sausage). I like the song as well, a lot. I forgot they're friggin Ghost B.C. now...silly. Our release date is later than yours I think, I've got a pre-order in. Any doubts I had about the band were vanquished by the live show they put on. Cheers laddy!

You know me, I'm a Patton junkie. Tomahawk has always flayed 4th fiddle for me behind FNM, Bungle, and Fantomas... That being said the first cpl records I thought were stellar. Trevor Dunn's on this one. Between him, Denison (big Jesus Lizard fan here) and Patton...well, I'm all over it. But that's me...lol. Listening to Meir now. Big deal on the interwebz... Some love it, some say it's nowhere near the S/T. Kurt Ballou did a very clear and bright production job on this one. At first I was like...ehhh. But then the classic rock influences andlicks began taking shape and making sense to me...and the big bright sound doesn't bother me at all. Very distinctive punk rock vibe as well imho. Like they spent time listening to Fucked Up or something. The blasts thrown in almost aren't even neccessary on this one. Do yourself and pick it up and give it a go...with an open mind. It's a different beast then the debut. Makes me smile... Right then!

That's a sick mix of a lineup man. I haven't pu the new MBV...a little skeptical about a band like that putting out new stuff after so long, but...I love their old stuff so I'll give it a shot. That's pretty cool about Ken Owen. Such a shame what happened to him. He was always one of my favorite drummers. Short hair, goofy ball cap, and that awkward way he would blast away! He was the man. Glad they're keeping him in the loop. I thought Erlandsson(sic) did admirably on the 1st reunion tour...he is technically pretty flawless behind the kit. Swans for 3 hours? Wow. They played for maybe 2 when I saw them but there was a cool opening set with Angels of Light and Akron/Family as well.

Saw Swans last fall, 1st time. They played most of The Seer and more recent stuff. Jarboe made an appearence. You're in for a treat. I've been listening to them quite a bit lately, focusing on the early noisy No Wave stuff. Haven't picked up a Suffo album in years but have seen them live w/Mike Smith still. Death metal isn't really my bag so much anymore...at least not new stuff. But spurred by a recent Hypocrisy listening session I decided to get their new one (CD and Vinyl bundle) Pungent Stench is another bad I've rediscovered, dug out my old albums. On the strength of Batillus' newest and it's heavy industrial vibe, I've even busted out the early Earache era Pitchshifter albums...lol. But lots of top stuff out recently. Mostly of the sludge, crust, and metallic hardcore variety. (Kinda what tickles my pickle these days) Oh, and the new Tomahawk and Clutch albums...I really dig 'em. I have huge expectations for Carcass tho man...maybe too big : )

Same old same old... Loooking for career options and a new place to live are consuming much of my time. Little bit of the ole depression set in this winter. A lot going on...lots of stress. But I'm managing. Stiff upper lip and all that. Weather is starting to turn, which is helping. Cave is awesome. I'm actually seeing him live tmrw night. Should be a good intro to his new stuff. Been a fan for sometime. I can help out with recs as far as his back catalogue is concerned. First time seeing him live though. How was Carcass' new line up. I'm dying to hear what the new material sounds like. Colin Richardson, whom they've worked with forever apparently bounced from the producers chair to do the new Trivium?! (at least thats what I heard) Any new stuff live? I caught the Melvins playing Stoner Witch, Houdini, and Bullhead a couple years ago...stunning. They've got a covers album dropping soon, only heard a Queen cover so far and was amazed...

I could strangle you man srsly... You lucky bastard. Nasum and Brutal Truth tonight, Baroness and Meshuggah last night... Baroness stole the show for me. I've seen Meshuggah like 7 times now and they we're Meshuggah... But an oversold overheated venue made for a less than stellar experience... Good fun nonetheless. Secret Unsane show past Tuesday...I'm beat. Gotta go straight from work and haul ass into Brooklyn tonight...not looking forward to the trip... I'm quite sure the show will be worth it. Cheers mate!

Saw Mares of Thrace last night man... They blew my balls off. I've never before been simutaneously turned on and sonically mesmerized watching a band perform. Nothing tantalizing about their live act other than the fact that they are a two woman wrecking crew. And their Canadian so you know they're cool chicks...

Garm was Arcturus' first singer...up until the last album I believe. That was ICS Vortex. I think Vortex does guest voxs on La Masquerade however.

No Swans after Children of God? Derp... Different strokes for different folks but that's when they really started getting interesting imo. Guess he/she doesn't like Gira's solo stuff either. I know it's oddball stuff but brilliant as far as I'm concerned. The no wave faze was great...but when Swans expanded their sound dude...that's when the magic started happening.

Zach Hill is the man... Did you say Slayer supported by the Melvins, YOB, WiTTR and YoNL? WTF? That's sick dude. I'd go just to see Year of No Light. Slayer I've caught like 12 times live. Done there...but you should see them atleast once. See you got a little Arcturus goin on... La Masqurade is one of my favorite albums, although I haven't listened to it in years. Used to get baked and listen to The Chaos Path over and over again...LOL. Good times.
