I haven't listened properly to them for some stupid reason like not liking their logo :). Was reading some reviews of Obsculum... and Penetralia and they all look pretty good, will have to check them out.. Disma's album is fucking flawless, so heavy and crushing doom death. I love the analogue production it has, specially the drums. And Pillard's growl just couldn't be better. Thought you might like it

not really into thrash metal, apart from early Metallica or Slayer. Im mostly into old school dm, doom, some black metal and everyting in between. Your charts show more variety in that sense, a more general heavy metal background. I kind of got to extreme metal through punk/ post punk if you like..

Started as a joke and finally i kept it for stuff that maybe was out of place in my "normal" one. Slugathor were one hell of a band, ultra heavy and evil sounding,"Echoes from beneath" or "Circle of Death" are both great albums. Your taste is equally out of the question man :)

This is my more "metal" profile, seems more appropriate to write from here :). i love early Immolation, specially their debut, though they have never put out a bad album, such a solid band. Love those trademark pinch harmonics that they execute better than anybody..About Suffocation, they don't do it for me. Great playing skills but not really the type of metal i enjoy, as you'll see in my charts here...Btw, have you listen to Slugathor?

Yeah, i was aware of Chris Barnes, very poweful growler. About CC, well the truth is i enjoyed their first couple of albums many years ago but i guess my metal taste has changed over time and i don't really enjoy gore theme music anymore (One exception being Mindloss by Gorefest), i find it kind of boring tbh, even though you could say "lyrics" in bands like CC are hard to appreciate. Thats why i dont really listen to them, in favour of music with other kind of "feeling" or themes, like Bolt Thrower, Asphyx or shit like Incantation.. BTW, I enjoyed Hunted so far. Very understated and groovy dm. The Obituary sound from "Cause of Death" is definitely there and the growling of CB adds up nicely. Not that much into the lyrics but that's just a minor complaint for otherwise a solid dm release :)

yeah man, you nailed it, it reminds a lot of Van Drunen. Don't get me wrong, i love Deicide's first two albums, even the third...but went quite mediocre after that tbh..but if you recommend it, it is worth a shot as we seem to listen to similar metal stuff XD

Return from Chaos is another killer...the funny thing is that i hadn't listened properly to Mercenary until recently influenced by the bad press, but i can safely say its one of my favourites. Bolt Thrower's riffs are so unique man, you know it's them straight away. Jesus, just checking Mercenary now...the riffing is insane.. i agree 100% on Grave. i would also save "..and here i die" EP, but yeah...their later output isn't near as good..btw, do you know these guys? best DM album 2012 imo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkF6h_a_Lmc

that's the thing, i think i enjoy more their sound when they dropped the blast beats and incorporated more mid-pace elements. Nothing wrong with their first albums of course. Mercenary is so underrated...I had a discussion about it with somebody who reckoned it didn't have any memorable riffs...WTF? Graves's first two are classic, i really love the production on their 2nd...after that i didn't really enjoy the change in Jorgen's voice that much to be honest..

i have to go with Those Once Loyal. My favourite metal album i think. Everything in that album from the very start is just too good. I think the evolution they show of their sound in this album is just perfect, killer production, killer riffs, killer lyrics..fucking amazing. I recently been listening a lot to Mercenary, even though it gets a lot of shit reviews from metalheads i find it to be a masterpiece...war master was the start of the "real bolt thrower" in my opinion...but of course, i love all their stuff...For Victory has some amazing tunes too. Btw, Into the grave by Grave is also one of my favourite albums :-)
