The Boom Blox soundtrack is incredible. Some of Marky's best work, honestly.

Listening to (and will later scrobble when I update the ipod) Paul's Boutique. For today is that album's 25th anniversary.

Nice! I'll figure out something that will hold the new stuff. I think whatever new files I have for you will fit on a flash drive.

I have listened to it too much for being a low quality stream but I can't help it! I love the thing. To me, it's like an abstract creation like Oneohtrix Point Never's albums.. just in the hiphop world instead of synth psych. Those warm tones.. as soon as the first track starts I'm laying back, ready to receive the beautiful sounds.

Oh my god I can't stop listening to it. It's like an OPN or Autechre of a rap album! Totally fractured but all the little bits add up to this lush, dreamy sound I'm just addicted to. Not sure if I'll love it more than Black Up but it's already hitting me hard... can't wait to hear the real full HQ deal when I get my vinyl and 320 download!!

Nice! You started at the right time. It'll be easy to fill the Museum with gear. Let me know when you're ready for a tour!

I may still have my Shimmy Disc Pod cassette somewhere, it had blue metallic ink on a transparent case, which was nearly all worn off the last time I glimpsed it. GbV may be the band I carry to the grave, but The Pod was the first record to really blow my mind. Still does.

Wow, original Shimmy Disc copy of The Pod sells for nearly $200. There's also an original Propeller on ebay, cover is a photo of Kevin with porn 'stache passed out on the couch wearing one of the early fan club t-shirts. Unsigned. One bid at $700 so far. If I were the kind of guy who occasionally "fell into money" or was awarded bonuses, I'd have a couple of those.

You better believe I watched it all. It was Night Ranger!

I hung out with duke the other night and while talking about crappy old movies I suggested the 1983 turd Get Crazy. (although I enjoyed it for nostalgia's sake. I remember watching it on HBO at my cousin's one Saturday night in 1984. We watched Get Crazy as well as this very Night Ranger concert on Mtv) So we watch it (...ohhh my....it's bad) and sharp eared duke says "That sounds like Sparks" Sure enough.....

Re: your shouts; Sung Tongs is 10? How the fuck did that happen? AC still seems like a "new" band to me. -- I might have indeed written that article. The author sure did manage to capture my attitude, especially about Embryonic ["it seemed like more of a collection of interesting (but ultimately shapeless and sort of boring) soundscapes than actual songs."]<-- exactly! However (unlike the author) I do think our recent Zaireeka spin was quite rewarding. -- I was going to send you the exact same Pharcyde shout. I was listening on my way home from work and realized that I was hearing different mixes of "I'm That Type.." and "Passin' Me By". It was rather surprising. (wasn't expecting extra beats, scratching and the like) -- Jay coming into the hip hop fold? Highly unlikely. He's just into good reissues that show up on his radar. The Ghetto Brothers, for example, was hipped to him via Spanish Gold because they did a cover/single for Record Store Day.

I like that group but I feel they are pretty hit or miss. Heard the newest song (and accompanying video...yikes!) and was very "meh" about it all.

Never heard Bob specifically mention them, but they are from New Zealand, aaaaand they probably had The Clean or The Bats open for them at some point. So, maybe?

Is that the new Die Antwoord?

    4. Jun., 15:59 Antworten
  • RolloSuplex

I saw that. I have no idea what goes on in that dude's life to get him to scrobble that. Or how he's scrobbleing period. This site isn't even on his radar. For proof go to that Spanish Gold last.fm page. Pretty much a blank page and the album comes out today. (his release, by the way)

Just for a lil bit... or perhaps FOREVER!!!

You are such a cyber-bully that your remarks rank right up there with Donald Sterling. LOL. And Gary Numan is your top artist. LOL(2). You obviously know nothing about music. Do you even know which century we're in? LOL(3). 241,608 plays? Perhaps its time you got a day job. <-truth
