    aw thanks. yesssssss i see you're listening to youth lagoon right now which is awesome. crystal castles has a brand new album out, which is really fantastic. hm i would also recommend you washed out, hot chip, friendly fires, discovery, ra ra riot, tanlines, broken social scene and gotye (who is actually surprisingly good).

    oy that really really really blows. i'm happy to hear that you're all right! did your house get a lot of damage from the wind/rain? i heard it was particularly rough in staten island and especially long island. nah, thank god i don't live too close to the water, even though i'm barely in zone b which caused my parents to freak out a bit. the wind was pretty rough and there were some trees down in my neighborhood, but in south brooklyn (especially in coney island/sea gate, omg) the streets looked like damn rivers. i never thought i would see something like that in my lifetime.

    arcade fire is great all around i think. they've stayed pretty consistent quality-wise, which is awesome. maybe the arctic monkeys? their debut is pretty good.

    hot fuss is so great because all the songs blend together so easily and every single one is totally memorable. it's a really unique record. not to mention, their first album. i can't think of another band that has had such a quality debut.

    they were at webster hall? i had no idea, but i guess it doesn't even matter at this point. yeah i totally agree, i think runaways is probably the best song on battle born. flesh and bone and deadlines and commitments are ok, but the rest are just forgettable. i wish they would make something like hot fuss or especially sawdust. sawdust is a perfect record imo.

    i know how you feel. i didn't even realize that they were going to be in the bronx until a couple days after the show! gah. i've listened to them for years and it sucks that it's so hard to get tickets for them. i have their live at the royal albert hall dvd and sometimes i watch it and weep. i really do. what do you think of their new album? i listened to it once all the way through and i was a little disappointed. i think i have to give it another listen.
