I think it's not a matter of whether doing an album justice or not, but to weld an enclosing, immutable view on it. it seems much easier to give an album a bland review and a rating, than dwelling on it to write a cohesive, well-thought and, most importantly, engaging one. there are, and will be lots of artists and albums I don't like at this time being, but that could easily grow up on me after a listen, a week, a decade, a nicely written review, who knows? I'd rather believe people would be less lazy and conformist if such ratings weren't so paradigmatic in reviews.
