Things are really good, how are you doing? Have you listened to Mr. Face yet? Listening to it right now. Ty is my hero.

Congrats on it being your last semester though! That's exciting. I, similarly, kind of forgot what you were in for. Writing? Uhhh... I better not guess 'cause I'll get it wrong. Any plans for after that? Opening a record store? Haha. Moving to Toronto? ;)

Haha quite alright. I'm a graphic designer for Cineplex and I basically do everything from editing down trailers to designing brochures to updating popcorn coupons, lol. I've been here since January so its been... nearly 10 months? AHHHHH. So long. It feels weird. This is my.... legitimate... job. I have a job. I am job.

":(" <- That's what the message I was TOTALLY going to write to you today was going to consist of because we haven't talked in so long. I actually thought to do this. We're on the same wavelength. I also realize its my fault though because I don't think I ever responded to your last post... I'm terrible. But I am doing just fine! Still working away at the job, which is going really well. Uh, what else, I'm going to be in two art shows coming up in November, which is exciting. Although I haven't made the art yet so I should probably get on that. How was your summer??? What are you doing now?

Woooooooooo so glad you liked it! I looove Casimir Pulaski Day. And Jacksonville, and The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades, and Chicago, and the UFO sighting, and Come on Feel the Illiinoise.... and ................ok I'll stop now haha. The song Romulus off of Michigan always makes me get a little choked up, won't lie.

We are on the same brain wave... I read this article not even like two weeks ago (he mentions running into Ty at a record store) and I was like god I wish he would do an actual podcast with Ty. Here's the article: http://www.spin.com/articles/marc-maron-interview-tweets/ Sufjan is one of my favorites but a lot of his stuff IS pretty damn sad, especially his Michigan album. I'd highly recommend Illinois, it's one of my favorite albums of all time and more upbeat than Michigan, but warning cause I've gotten mixed results when I've recommended it to people haha. It seems like they either love it or they can't really get into it. For me it was love at first listen though, it's been an album I've gone back to many, many times since I first listened to it a few years ago. He went in a different direction with his music after that. Age of Adz, (which is what I just scrobbled) is pretty good but definitely out there, and he's done some weird shit lately. He's a unique guy.

No doubt about it, the albums I've listened to most this year owe a lot to the sixties and seventies. You probably already know this, but Allmusic.com is fantastic for what you're talking about with the influenced by/similar to . I've found sooo many bands there, I'm pretty sure including Blue Cheer. The recommendations here ain't too shabby either, it's what initially drew me to this site.

Hang me up to dryyyyyy!!!!! I revisited Bowie myself semi-recently... the man is a genius. There are so many artists like him that have discographies just chock full with fantastic albums. Hunky Dory, Low, and Ziggy have always been my three favorites. I discover more and more music from the 60's and 70's that I didn't know about all the time. Even stuff like the Kinks 'Village Green Preservation Society'... I had never heard of it really before last week and it's sooo good.

Glad you liked the spoon, you were the first person I thought of when I heard it. Listen to Reflektor!! Especially the title song with it's awesome groove and David Bowie guest appearance. I have been listening to a ton of t.rex lately along with Manipulator. I've always played the hell out of Electric Warrior but lately I can't get enough of The Slider. Ahhhh so much good music lately and there's more around the corner... King Tuff, Bass Drum of Death, Foxygen, and the next batch of Led Zeppelin reissues. I can't wait

I really liked Lazaretto, but Manipulator takes the cake for me. And I can say that confidently now that I've listened to it a good 10 times through haha. I really hope Ty keeps churning out material at the absurd rate he has been for the past few years. I don't know many other artists who manage to release so much good material so quickly without ever putting out flops. I listened to Sleeper yesterday and was just as impressed with it as when it came out. And Twins was hands down my favorite until Manipulator came along. You've gotta find somebody to go to that concert with! I would probably have the same problem though... people are kinda dumb. I mean just read those youtube comments on Ty's Conan performance heh. How is the Her soundtrack? I never saw the movie and didn't know that Arcade Fire did the soundtrack but I love those guys, of course, and loved Reflektor.

I've been really busy and didn't realize Manipulator leaked..... right now is my first listen, I'm almost done with it. If this isn't album of the year I don't know what is!!! He really, really outdid himself. There isn't a weak song on the whole album. I already know this record is going to be on repeat for a loooong time for me and I really think Ty is about to blow up in a big way. I see you're going to see him soon, SO JEALOUS. As for The Eagles, they're awesome despite what the big lebowski says haha. I was raised on their blue greatest hits album (which I think is a top 3 highest selling album of all time) and the Hotel California album is fantastic too.

Hey Megan.... if you haven't listened to the new spoon follow that man's advice, GET ON IT! "The album sounds like a proper follow-up to Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, the clear-eyed 2007 LP where everything clicked into place and a restless band finally hammered themselves into stone" Also... if you didn't watch Ty destroy Conan a couple nights ago..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O99Id3Iq2fw Hope you're doing great

I've listened to Mac and Jack sooo much. Especially Salad Days. The Black Keys new album is pretty good too. Thank you for reminding me of Natural Child, gonna listen to it now! Got it a while ago but completely forgot to check it out.
