X-Mix 2011

16. Dez. 2011, 2:56

I wasn't going to do a holiday mix this year because I didn't think I'd have enough new content, then BAM I was suddenly hit with a sleighful of relevant music. Or a donkey or something, if you're into the religious part of everyone's favourite re-purposed pagan festival more so than the commercial part. I'm not particularly into either of them anymore, but hey, I can always appreciate some catchy music.

Also presents.

Highlights this year are courtesy of Gruff Rhys (I held back on including "Slashed Wrists This Christmas" because even I'm not quite that cynical), The Boy Least Likely To (as usual), some random Scottish people, and Rob Crow in the guise of Goblin Cock. If you've ever wanted to hear a Black Sabbath song in the tune of a Christmas classic then this is the mix for you! If you hadn't even considered such a magical thing, well, you might as well download it anyway because it's awesome.

1. Jim Bryson - Silent Night
2. Gruff Rhys - Post Apocalypse Christmas
3. The Wooden Sky - Christmas All Over Again
4. The Provincial Archive - Sound In Winter
5. The Mountains & The Trees - Winter Blues
6. The Boy Least Likely To - Jingle My Bells
7. Scottish Quest All Stars - Santa's A Scotsman
8. Meaghan Smith - Baby It's Cold Outside
9. Camera Obscura - The Nights Are Cold
10. Casiotone for the Painfully Alone - Traveling Salesman's Wife Alone On Christmas In Montpelier, VT
11. Damien Jurado - Christmas Time Is Here
12. Hawksley Workman - Where It Used To Snow
13. The Deep Dark Woods - The Winter Hours
14. Hayes Carll - Grateful For Christmas
15. Shearwater - God's Song (That's Why I Love Mankind)
16. Goblin Cock - Hark! The Iron Man

And here are buttloads of Christmas/winter music from the past few years.

Feliz Naviwhatever!
