Do you ever just stop listening to a band for no reason and then five months later rediscover them and fall in complete and total love? I'm sure you do. That just happened to me with Pavement.
What a great band. Over the past three days I've been watching the Slow Century DVD. There is some great footage. It's too bad they broke up. Stephen Malkmus has said, however, that there is a possibility they will get back together. Then again, I have also read that him and Spiral Stairs don't have a good relationship, so it's not very likely that they would ever play together again.
I read about this show that Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks played in Milwaukee in which they treated the crowd to an entire set of Pavement songs in chronological order. Man, what a lucky crowd.
I'm seeing Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks in a few days at Bonnaroo. I've been listening to the three albums he has put out with them (well, the latest one is mostly just him), and I like them all. Just not as much as anything Pavement ever released.
