  • My All Time Favorite Songs

    30. Apr. 2008, 8:29

These do not include remixes, mashups, and the like. The first two were easy, after that it is difficult to determine an order. If I did this tomorrow, I might come up with a completely different order, but the songs would be pretty much the same. • New Millennium Artists

    7. Apr. 2008, 19:33

This chart reflects my musical tastes of artists which have enjoyed commercial success since the start of the new millennium. Yes, I know most of these artists started in the 90's.

    1. Coldplay
    2. Eminem
    3. Limp Bizkit
    4. Obie Trice
    5. Linkin Park
    6. Toby Keith
    7. VAST
    8. P.O.D.
    9. Fairyland
    10. This list was tough because there are just not many acts with more than one decent album to their credit, but after much debate and trepidation I came up with .....Nerf Herder? Surely someone can help me with this list! Do you know any good artists from the new millennium with more than one good album to their credit?

  • Favorite Artists

    7. Apr. 2008, 9:50

This is a list of my ten favorite artists. My iTunes is set for random, so the chart simply reflects which artists which I have the most material. This list is not precise, and could change from time to time.

    1. Yes
    2. Pink Floyd
    3. Rush
    4. Led Zeppelin
    5. Meat Loaf
    6. Metallica
    7. Pet Shop Boys
    8. Genesis
    9. Beatles/Paul McCartney
    10. The most difficult one, since I'm leaving out so many great artists, but I'll go with ......Van Halen.

I realize that #7 may generate lots of hate mail, especially since so many worthy artists were left off the list. Meat Loaf is another questionable selection, but everyone has their guilty pleasures.
  • First Charts

    31. Mär. 2008, 22:08

I just got my charts today for the first week. Several things of interest. First, it counts multiple versions of the same song as one. Also, it calculated not only my scrobbled tunes, but used the playcount from my iPod to calculate the top artists. For now, I'm playing my iPod on Party Shuffle Random until I get all my songs rated. Once that is complete, I'll switch the setting to play my higher rated songs more. At that point, it should benefit the artists that have higher rated songs. I hope to have all my songs rated in another week or so. After that, I'll be filling in some of the gaps in my music collection, and eventually weeding out some of the weakest songs. I hope last.fm will be a good source of finding new tunes, and I invite others to suggest to me artists that I might be interested in. I have a wide variety of musical tastes, so I'm open to all kinds of music.

This is my first day on lastfm. I'm scrobbling with my iTunes. It's set for shuffle play. When I get all my songs rated, it will play higher rated songs more. I have over 11,000 songs in my library.

I'm getting ready to go kayaking with my brother Mark. Then I'll work out tomorrow, and then see my girlfriend Susan tomorrow night. Sunday is easter, and my 49th birthday.
