The main singer/bassist (maybe guitarist) had his own solo stuff going on called El Supremo. Check it out. Really funky stoner-y stuff.

thanks for the recommendations man. I will certainly check them out. Yeah I forget what part of ND this stoner rock band Egypt is from but they rock shit definitely. You probably should check em' out. Ken Mode is awesome, would love to catch em' live one day.

I had a feeling it was because of money. I guess you can't afford to catch them sometime on the East, I understand that all too well if that's the case. In the meantime, I looked up live videos of them for you:

Godheadsilo, next to Karp, is my favorite indie-sludge rock band. They fucking rule. Best thing outta North Dakota.

I am indeed from Philly-well, just outside it actually. But I spend time there when I'm with my boyfriend, which is often. How come Mischief Brew don't play anywhere but the East Coast? I wasn't even aware that they did that.

Querría mucho hablar español contigo, aunque mi español no sea fuerte. I don't know if I can speak Spanglish, though; I have never tried. My franglais is pas mal, mais j'évite ça usually. There is a guy named Galo who fraternizes a lot of with my colleagues in French -- I think he is a former student of one of theirs. Anyway, dude is always in the hallway talking on the phone to his sister in Spanglish. I love to hear him code-switch like that; I think it's fascinating. I once tried to ask him why he chose certain words in English in a Spanish sentence, but he confessed that he doesn't think about it as he does it, that sometimes it just "feels better." So, yes, I also love languages and linguistics. As for the music collection, Edith Nylon is pretty great. Personally, I'm nuts about French punk rock from the 80's, particularly Bérurier Noir, Ludwig von 88, and Métal Urbain. I also like lots of French coldwave/synth wave, French communist oi!, and non-fascist French black metal...

Anyway, the request came during my first semester of grad school and I was VERY OVERWHELMED much of the time (I put it in caps to demonstrate the intensity of how overwhelmed I was) and didn't have time to drop everything and write an essay about palindromes and internet memes for some creepy bureaucrats at the state DMV. Therefore, I never got my TACOCAT license plate, and they refunded my money. Jerks.

Tacocat is a palindrome. I am obsessed by palindromes and have been for a long time. Once I found this image on the internet and was very happy: I tried to get a personalized license plate reading TACOCAT, but the state of Kansas wrote me with a letter demanding a one-page handwritten explanation of the significance of the word. I think they assumed it was obscene or something (I'm sure most of us can think of ways that people use "taco" and a certain synonym for "cat" as euphemisms). Anyway, they wouldn't let me get the plate unless I did that... (continued in next message)

O maybe I'll reply now! Well, I guess that my language learning almost always begins in a classroom somewhere, but I like to travel and study abroad and improve it there. The most exotic places I've ever gotten to use my Spanish are New York and Wroclaw, Poland. My Polish, Dutch, and Italian have been learned when travelling or out of teach-it-to-yourself guides, but I've formally studied French, German, Spanish, Russian, and LowGerman dialects at school. It's my hobby and my vocation. I do think it would be cool to learn Tagalog, but I think that about most languages. I'm sorry that your proficiency is not. Ha. What languages have you studied? One of my top ways to geek out over music and language is by searching punk and indie music from all over the globe. Depending on what yr language(s) is/are, I may have some suggestions for you...

Hi Joaquins dad. There's nothing bad about being a stinky family man. Greetz from Germany and welcome to the beach. Keep on punkrocking anyway.

Über mich

I really really like music. I am particularly partial to the punk rock. I am a product of the depths of Fargo, ND and all the goodness and filth it had to offer.I was a punk rock kid. Now I'm an old stinky family man livin' in colorado. I'd love for anyone out there to be my peter frampton, if there is music to discover, show me the way. I haven't played in a band in too many years and sometimes that makes me cry. If you live in loveland/ft collins and want to make music, contact me. Racism makes me sick, burritos and beer make me happy. This next bit I include only because I so often encounter it on this sight, that being said if you have an issue with a person being gay, or if yr ignorant enough to be racist go sodomize yrself with a serrated scalpel, and don't bug me, which reminds me I'm an ardent practitioner of non-violence. salud!
