My top ten picks from 2011, which has been a bloody great year for music. Writing this in late November, so unless Polvo hurry up and get that full length out on Merge in the next month there shouldn't be any changes!

Honourable mentions go to Yuck's self-titled debut and Colin Stetson's latest LP. A notable disappointment was the new ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead album (matched by a fairly crap live showing), which began hurting my brain after more than two listens.
