Über mich

JamieB - Jamie Brady is a dance music producer who grew up in Preston, Lancashire UK. Fed upon a diet of disco and funk classics by his parents during the late 70's and early 80's, he soon developed a taste for the new sound of Rap and Hip Hop that was coming from America. At the same time the use of synthesizers in european music was taking over from the sound of punk music, in the popular music charts. With the breakbeats of KRS1 and Kool Moe Dee echoing in his head, combined with the soundscapes provided by Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode, Jamie began his musical journey.
After 5 lessons with a stuffy piano teacher , Mum and Dad realised that Jamie was not going to learn music the conventional way and just let him bang away on the piano, emulating the tunes from the charts.
A christmas present of a guitar expanded Jamie's musical direction and a stint at school with trumpet and violin added to the reportoire.

During music lessons at school the synthesizers really took Jamie's attention and the emergence of tracker software and sequencers allowed Jamie, and millions of others like him to record full tracks on his own.
The heady years of acid house and early rave were fertile ground for new producers and Dj's, but Jamie was over on the other side of the DJ booth with his hands in the air.
Slowly Jamie began to move back into the production of music again as the rave scene began to find some equilibrium, and he was creating music using the fabled Atari 1040st , with Yamaha Synths and an Akai sampler. All this music was recorded onto cassettes and distributed to anyone who wanted it for free.

Later the studio inevitably moved over to a PC based system, and Jamie was one of the 1st adopters of a piece of software called fruityloops, which with other software platforms like reason and logic gave producers new tools to produce music.
The advent of the CD/R meant that Jamie was able to distribute his music in a much easier to use format, and again, hundreds of these freshly burnt CD's were given away.
In 2008 Jamie stumbled across an online radio station playing old school music and started a regular slot using DJ'ing software and a USB controller.

MP3's finally gave Jamie the ability to share his music to anyone who wanted it ... again for free via soundclick ( a competing website to soundcloud) and later via souncloud.
In early 2011 Jamie was invited to send a demo to a new record label 4House Digital based in Australia. The guys liked it and gave him a contract to produce and distribute music through the label.

The rest , as they say 'is history'.... though I personally prefer ..'The rest is the future'

Peace people, be nice to each other.. thanks for taking the time to read this far, and I hope at least one of my tunes moves something in you :D
