I'll see you there! I'll be in a sweater/collared shirt haha. Btw my band put out our first EP yesterday. It's free on Bandcamp if you're interested.

I'd honestly be kind of bothered if they delivered this album, and then announced it as a soundtrack. It would feel a little cheap to me. Yeah, I'm super curious about it, especially because I'm assuming that he creates their video stuff.

Well, to my knowledge, he wasn't touring with them for a bit because he was working on a film. I assume it's in post-production, because they've put out this album, so I expect to see some shows (or non-shows) coming up. I've seen some people speculating that the new album is a soundtrack, but I don't really see how it could be. It's not exactly background music.

Well isn't that why Zach took time off from touring?

It's in at least like three songs, I think. It's at the end of the Nancy Sinatra sample in "Death Grips (Next Grips)," (although that initial version is not Ride saying it), it's all over "Cut Throat." I think it's on TMS somewhere too...either way, shit's cool. I'm tempted to watch them as a narrative, because of the ending of the last video, but it doesn't quite make sense as a story haha.

I love how they always sneak in subtle little samples. Have you ever noticed how many times they do the "It's death" echo thing? It starts with the first track on the EP, and they've used it a bunch of times since. That Oneohtrix album is really cool. I like Replica more, but there are some real standouts on the newer one. They're worth watching whenever you have time. The "Whatever I want" video is especially odd.

I could totally see that. I mean, it's a Death Grips album. Kind of hard not to get excited over. "Whatever I want (Fuck who's watching)" is probably one of the most interesting songs they've ever made. The lyrics make it seem like a weird kind of spin on "Hacker." It's definitely a contender for AOTY. Have you watched the videos for each track? They're confounding, but I'm trying to make sense of them.

Historic played a lot of shows, but we have actually yet to play a show as Claim Culture, because we're still writing a set. I can let you know about our first show though!

gives me some time to get through other stuff i want to listen to. also, i'd rather start off with a new release than an old one, just because it feels more current.

yeah i felt that way for a while, but the red flame mixtape is really consistent and seems to be a good introduction to him. there's also this, which everyone needs.

That was nice, I usually hate claps used as the placeholder for beats but that was really well done. Then again hearing MF's voice over anything gets me giddy. I'll have to check that album out.

That was badass. I should probably try another MF album. I tried one a few months back but it didn't impress me much in comparison to Madvillain. Though you kinda have to take into account that that album relies heavily on Madlib's flawless production too.

Haha, I can only imagine what a disco mix of Eskimo would sound like. Which DOOM thing are you talking about? I don't think I've heard him doing anything over Dilla's beats before, unless it's something I completely missed.
