I thought of posting this elsewhere, but the dusty journal here is as good place as any. Social medias are so much overrun with information these days, so I rather write in a more secluded location. Anyone stumbling upon this entry is either determined to be here or lost. Either way you're in the right place.

As a practicing empirical cultural anthropologist (I'd wager that's the only true type of anthropologist), I find great delight of finding specimens seemingly apart from space and time. Only seemingly, since those are mere dimensions we cannot experience directly with our senses, but more to that later. This here, however, a missing link between The Cure and nu metal, is indeed a definite product of its time. The dark and sinister nineties, the dawning twilight of my earthly journey, spawned plenty of such artists that the dusts of time and decay have capsulated in the abandoned sewers of the web.

The song is a German version of a previously recorded English-sung song, and in very German fashion the video is the original, and the German song is dubbed over. Musically I prefer the English one, but that is irrelevant when inspecting the cultural value of art. Supposedly the lyrics ought to have been revised, but with my staggering German I am unable to decipher any outright clumsiness. If you happen to be a native speaker reading this, please do elaborate the horror/amusement you experience and let me have a little less troubled sleep in my endampened tomb.

Otherwise, breaking down the variety of distinct details in the video and the song is a too troublesome a task – one ought to experience it in first person and construct through deconstruction its redeeming qualities.
