Hellow Zach! How's it going? This Sunday 2/17, I will host another radio a shift at WUOG from 3pm to 8pm. It'd be really awesome if you tuned in. I do have several themes on hand, so don't expect to be bored XD Listen through http://old.wuog.org/live/ or TuneIn... they should both work fine :-)

Ohhh look you've been listening to Thao and Mirah! I enjoyed that album with few complaints. What are your thoughts on it? Sorry I haven't replied in a long time, life gets in the way of the internet (I'm glad it's not the other way, at least haha). I can imagine Curb your enthusiasm to be a better show than seinfeld, just because i get the feeling it's pretty self serving to Larry, seeing as he was living though Jerry via Seinfeld, if you know what I mean. Also, if you're into Home Movies what do you think of Bob's Burgers? I'm enjoying it, although a lot of my friends don't appreciate the humour.

HI Zach, seems like you are into Woody Allen, can't say I have ever enoyed his movies or writings, just not my style I suppose. I'm always getting into writings or music that I didn't think I liked before so I'm waiting for my a-ha moment about Mr. Allen. Have a good weekend and enjoy life since its what we are here for in my view~katiya

Interesting selection there. :) Kurt Vonnegut is particularly interesting, although I've never really taken the time to read any of his work. Any particular titles you'd personally recommend? Also, what is it that draws you to the authors you mention?

I have seen Curb Your Enthusiasm, however I've been meaning to watch more of it. Larry David is a wonderful human being, really and truly. As for The Dirty Projectors, I like knowing that the musicians I listen to are genuinely nice people. I realize that this isn't going to be true for most of the musicians in the world, seeing as most human beings aren't genuinely nice people...but it still feels nice to know that someone who is making something beautiful is doing it for the right reasons. rambleramble. I don't know, I always use Arcade Fire as an example in conversations like this. While they may or may no be your cup of tea, they're just real people, writing good music, and not being terribly pretentious about it. In my opinion, they left a huge imprint on "indie music" in that they tend to be categorized as "that classic hipster band" and yet they manage to be incredibly musical. I feel like you could say the same about BSS. And oh maaaan home movies, so much nostalgia!

part 2: I also have watched all of arrested development (shpobviously), all of Daria (easily my favourite cartoon, with Ugly Americans as a close second), Breaking bad (though I haven't seen the new season), Dead Like Me, The Office, Seinfeld, My Name is Earl, and a huge amount of the Food Network. I consider myself a pretty big foodie. The Dirty Projectors....I understand where you're coming from. I can't say I've seen a lot of interviews with him in them, but I'll check that out.

Sorry I don't reply often, I don't manage to get on last.fm too often. but yes, I haven't seen nearly enough by Allen. Just Annie Hall, What's up Tiger Lily, everyone says I love you, Whatever works, Midnight in paris...and Antz. I loved Antz as a kid actually. I will catch up with what I need to watch in time, seeing as I have become a part of the %10 unemployment rate here...I have lots of spare time. As for the X-files, I highly recommend it. It has become my favourite TV series ever, and I've got 3 and a half more seasons to go! c: oohp gotta break up this message.

Well, I prefer reading Literature that is well written and is set in History. My favourite writer is Ernest Hemingway and "A Farewell to Arms" is my go to read when I want to find well constructed sentences. I also like John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath." I read a lot of nonfiction like David McCullough's "The Path Between the Seas" Ron Chernow's "Washington" and Alex Haley's "The Autobiography of Malcolm X." Those are just a few of my favourite books. In terms of fiction. I like sarcasm and witty dialogue so Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde are tops as well~

There Will Be Blood is the only movie directed by Paul Thomas Anderson that I've watched and I think I only watched it because Jonny scored it haha. I've listened to his Norwegian Wood score but I haven't watched the movie. A lot more orchestral than the TWBB one. I felt the same way after I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. Apart from the great visuals, it was really haunting and it kept me thinking what the ending could possibly mean.

Über mich

Millions of books written on every conceivable subject by all these great minds and in the end, none of them knows anything more about the big questions of life than I do ... I read Socrates. This guy knocked off little Greek boys. What the Hell's he got to teach me? And Nietzsche, with his theory of eternal recurrence. He said that the life we lived we're gonna live over again the exact same way for eternity. Great. That means I'll have to sit through the Ice Capades again. It's not worth it. And Freud, another great pessimist. I was in analysis for years and nothing happened. My poor analyst got so frustrated, the guy finally put in a salad bar. Maybe the poets are right. Maybe love is the only answer.
