Wed 23 Dec – The Mods (uk)

Had a great time. Place was sold out, bar prices very reasonable and real ale on. Teh win!!

The band played for a solid 2 hours or there abouts. Loads of mod standards and a few rockier tracks thrown in. Surprised myself with how many I knew the words to.

The band were tight and most of the audience were having a bit of a dance, many of us singing too.

Everybody looked like they were having a great time, no attitude at all.

Oh, and I want the singer's blue glitter shoes…

Utterly fantastic gig. The support were good in a shoegazey sort of way.

APTBS were selling branded earplugs, and they were pretty loud. Great lights, cheap t-shirts, superb sound, really pleased with my vids below.

The Garage was fairly packed, surprisingly for the support as well as the headliners.

Only slight criticism was the self indulgent twiddly-dee bit towards the end, which really lost a lot of the momentum of the show for no real point.

Sat 7 Nov – Combichrist, Mechanical Cabaret, AlterRed

Didn't take a camera due to old Slimelight policy. People seem able to now, but not going to risk having it taken off me.

AlterRed were inconsequential.

Mechanical Cabaret were fab, entertaining, witty, energetic, lithe, cruel and lovely. As always. Sound was decent, but distorting a bit. Plenty of wallop. SHOULD. BE. TOPPING. BILLS. NOT. PLAYING. SECOND. FIDDLE. TO. GENERIC. SHITE.

We only lasted one CombiChrist track.

Why are they popular? I suppose I know. It's just like a microcosm of the pop chart. All the crap rises to the top.
