I recently got into these guys after hearing them... spare me... at Hot Topic (who is - fun fact - owned by Gap, Inc.) in the mall while paroozing the clearance bin. My friend Jess working behind the counter informed me that it was a band called Foxy Shazam and they just recently released their first album "Introducing Foxy." While the album is seeming a tat too poppy for my liking, i found that the Jet dance rhythms, Glassjaw overtones, and unique stylings much like the Mars Volta created a very unique sound that even my mother appreciated.
I highly suggest checking out this album if you haven't already, even if it's just to take it for a test drive. Some people may turn away from it quickly if they aren't partial to the piano-infused jazz rhythms in bands like My Chemical Romance (which I personally am not accustomed to), but do yourself a favour and take it in like fine sushi; take it all in as the sum of its parts rather than writing it off because it has a portion that tastes like some crustaceans you may or may not like.
Anywho, enjoy the album, and if you can't find it anywhere drop me a line and I'll be happy to send you a copy.
Ciao for now,
Steven J.
