Adapted from a diary entry written in 2005:
"Last night I had the beeeest time! I went to Cannington (whoop whoop, though not as whoop whoop as some other whoop whoops) to the Foundry Pub & Grill, to see MAGIC DIRT!!!! But I had forgotten that Snowman were supporting, and so it was a really great surprise to see them there. Some of you will recall I mentioned them in my entry about the Jebediah gig at the Newport, and said they were really strange and weird but cool. Well, my opinion on that has not changed. I am an official fan of Snowman and I would gladly buy their music. I will, when I have money. After they had played, I went over to the bassist (a girl) and the drummer (very awesome drummer; he is insane but great, and I guess that goes for the rest of the band too). I told them that they were totally awesome, if a little strange. They said thanks.
The second band that came on were called Mr. Sandman. These bands all applied to Magic Dirt to be support acts, because Magic Dirt called for local bands to send in their demos and they chose a few bands out of those who applied. Magic Dirt are from the East Coast. Anyway, Mr. Sandman were pretty good but I was thinking that compared to Snowman they were not all that special or different. I was also excited to see Magic Dirt so I kind of just wanted Mr. Sandman to finish. That is mean of me, I know. :P But oh well. I would not complain to see those guys again.
Finally it was nearing time for Magic Dirt to come out on stage. Adalita looked totally awesome and beautiful, and I never tired of watching her play the guitar and rock out. If I were gay she would be very, very high on my list. But as a straight girl she is still very high on the list of women to idolise. She has this voice that can sound gutsy and guttural, or sweet and high. It’s pretty unique. I am not too familiar with the majority of Magic Dirt albums, so I didn’t sing along to most of the songs. But my moment of glory came with their last song. Adalita said, “Okay, let’s play an oldie and rock this house,” or something, and I wondered which one they would play. I was betting on “Ice” because they had played that at the other show according to Bruna. But to my utter joy and wonder, they kicked into “She-Riff”. I went mad, as did the rest of the crowd. Suddenly people were all around me jumping around and head-banging and singing at the top of their lungs.

After the show we kind of hoped for an encore, but I guess they are doing heaps of shows so they figure they don’t need to do encores. :P So they didn’t do one."
