The lineup for Splendour in the Grass 2006 was announced today, and it’s exceedingly good. Just enough to convince me that the price increase is worth it. For camping and festival entry this year we’re going to have to shell out $259 each. The new ticketing system worries me a little and makes me think getting camping tickets could be a bit of a lottery.

Saturday 22 July

* Sonic Youth
* Grinspoon
* DJ Shadow
* The Grates
* Death Cab for Cutie
* TV on the Radio
* Augie March
* The Avalanches(DJ set)
* Youth Group
* Brittle Fex
* Atmosphere
* Paul Mac

Sunday 23 July

* Brian Wilson
* Wolfmother
* Scissor Sisters
* Yeah Yeah Yeahs
* Jose Gonzalez
* Snow Patrol
* You Am I
* Decoder Ring
* The Presets
* Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
* The Zutons
* Matisyahu
* Clare Bowditch and The Feeding Set

I can't wait to see Scissor Sisters and the Avalanches doing a DJ set should be awesome.

My aim is to listen to a full album from each of the artists above before the festival rolls around.

    Agreed about the camping tickets. It's going to be madness on the site the day they go on sale. I'm pumped about seeing the Scissor Sisters too as well, the sheer variety on offer is amazing in the lineup this year. I'm dissapointed about the avalanches only doing a dj set, it won't compare to their live set. *prays to the music gods for a new avalanches album* I like your goal to listen to every album from each artist. I hope to do the same. It shows an open-minded ness that I wish some people I know would take onboard, instead they outright dismiss a festival lineup as being shit because they haven't heard of most of the bands.

    Oh wow... that IS an awesome lineup. It's pretty expensive, but definately worth it. Good luck getting camping tickets, though.
