Hey! The shows were great. The after party got overcrowded since they were selling tickets at the door, but it was a cool experience. And I wish I could afford $600 for an NYE anything, but I'm far too poor haha. When I saw that price I nearly passed out. What was the environment like in Boston? I'm so curious, because I can only imagine the "new york-ness" of new york has certainly played a role in what the show is now.

Haha, dont worry, you are speaking to another total SNM nerd :) I'm going to the film noir inspired Halloween show. I'm SO excited. And broke. And YES, I have had dreams about it. I'm glad I'm not the only one haha. It's hard to stop thinking about it, even when I'm asleep apparently

Absolutely! :) I saw it for the first time 2 weeks ago and was blown away. I had no idea what to expect. Needless to say I'm going again on the 15th, and I also got tickets for one of their Halloween-week shows. It's great meeting people who've seen the show, especially when they have such good taste in music!

It seems like you have also seen "Sleep No More". Glad I'm not the only one who tracked those songs down after seeing the show!

Nice music yourself!! No I didn't go to Bowdoin, I was lucky enough to be working up in Maine and tagged along with an alum to Ivies. I still can't believe I saw her so close for free... what about you?

You have a great library. I notice you're also a big fan of Janelle Monae and PJ Harvey. I recently saw JM live - it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to!

Thanks. ;) Are you saying that while you enjoyed Soap&Skin's album, you can't listen to it again? I'm confused.

No that’s fine!! :D Janelle also features on B.O.B’s ‘Kid’s, though I haven’t really gotten into the track yet. I’m checking out Deep Cotton’s official site right now, gonna read their biographies! Y’know, the other week I bought an NME magazine that had Janelle on the front cover, and she came in at #2 on NME’s cool list of 2010, isn’t that amazing? Kanye came in at #3, and this chick Laura Marling was #1. Gotta love Janelle’s mix of Indie and Soul, otherwise not many soul artists appear in Indie mags, it’s usually just Alt Rock and Hip hop artists. I agree that Wondaland would be the perfect single for this season, it sure does have a wintry feel to it! As for new music, I never stop searching for new stuff! I’m currently listening to a lot of ‘I Blame Coco’ and Tricky’s new album, ‘Mixed Race’. Anyway, I’ll talk to you soon!

No problem! Did you hear Peachtree Blues and 2012? Tell me if you liked them! To be honest, I’ve only ever heard of Of Montreal because they featured on the album, but other than that, I haven’t heard any of their music. As for Deep Cotton, are they an actual group or just part of Janelle’s band? That’s wicked that he was only a few rows ahead! I love the whole Cindi Mayweather concept, I think that it’s really creative. She needs another video! What song do you think is gonna be the next single? I hope it’s either Come Alive or Dance or Die, because those are really upbeat and energetic songs and could do with an amazing video to match.

Whoa! The Janelle gig sounds incredible! Yeah, my mate who saw her told me that she stage dives and interacts with the audience a lot, which I think is great. I LOVE Sincerely Jane, it’s definitely one of my favourites from her EP. So did she merge the songs together like she does on her album? About the sound system, the same thing happens to me, like when it’s too loud and it feels like the ground is shaking lol. BTW, the venue sounds really nice, I like the sound of it, “House of Blues”. :D Have you heard the song she did with Jaspects called ‘Peachtree Blues’? What I love about her is her versatility, she can go from singing alternative soul to jazz. I hope you do get to see her again! Damn, I would love to see her live too! Were there any supporting acts?
