This list is ever-changing in my head and the second I typed it up I probably began to disagree with it. I don't expect anyone else to remotely agree with it, but it is my personal preference so although I value your opinions ultimately I think they are wrong!For example is there really no room for Saint Etienne or Air or GusGus? And do I really like the Cutting Crew track more than the Zager & Evans track? The debate continues in my head. There were limits as to how many tracks an artist could have. Else the list would have loads of Guillemots and Magic Numbers and Lamb and Massive Attack and Counting Crows. Anyways, here goes:

1. Don't Dream it's Over-Crowded House
Just a perfect modern pop song. And one I never tire of listening to.

2. Heaven-Lamb
I first heard this on the closing credits to some Tour de France coverage and at the time hadn't heard of Lamb. But that soon changed, this is a gorgeous slice of music, still my favourite Lamb track, even if Lamb is my favourite album which means Lusty and Gorecki get more plays.

3. Wind Of Change-Scorpions
Classic classic track. Such meaning behind the track as well. "Let your balalaika sing what my guitar wants to say".

4. Jolene-Dolly Parton
Because we've all known someone like Jolene.

5. A Wish For Something More-Amy McDonald
My favourite new album of 2007, this describes a feeling many of us have had in the past. And for me this was at the same time the album was released Amy are you stalking me? A beautiful track on a very good debut album.

6. We're Here-Guillemots
The best track from the best album in many many years. I would have loved to have put all this album on but I just picked the very best. Needless to say this is stunning. And lyrically perfect.

7. Where the Wild Roses Grow-Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds feat. Kylie Minogue
I'm always a sucker for a good duet. And I honestly think this is the finest moment of Kylie's career. She plays the tragic heroine very well, and compliments Nick Cave much better than Jason Donovan IMHO!

8. Sarah-Bat For Lashes
Great new artist, another revelation of 2007, and another perfect tragic song.

9. Unstoppable-The Calling
Not cool, not current, not well known, but this has the ideal nature that my hopeless romantic side wishes existed!

10. Mrs Robinson-Simon & Garfunkel
I really like movie songs and this is one of the very best. From a great band who would have had more entries space permitting. Especially from PSR&T which although only 30 minutes is musically brilliant.
