  • Do The Shuffle... Dance?

    19. Sep. 2010, 9:31

Put your music player of choice on shuffle.

Answer the following questions with the TITLE of the song.

What is my goal in life? Help, I'm Alive.
What is my best achievement so far? Tick Toxic.
How will I die? Love, Love, Love.
My epitaph will read: No One Has Ever Looked So Dead.
My motto in life is: Got No Love.
Last night I dreamt about: Pitter Patter Goes My Heart.
The first thing I thought when I woke up was: Dance Anthem of the 80's.
Peoples' first impressions of me are: The Hat.
If I was made world leader, the first thing I'd do is: Take Five.
How would I describe myself? Revolution.
    My favourite past-time is: Frozen.
When I look in the mirror, I see: Warriors.
I feel like: The The Empty.

Now answer the questions with the FIRST LINE of each song.
I woke up this morning and said: "The pain surrounds - I watch it rain, I watch it trickle down..."
While I was in the shower, I sang: "You... in a simple grey coat..."
My boyfriend/girlfriend rang me and said: "All the things I wrote..."
So I replied: "How can I just let you walk away?..."
I missed my bus, and was so angry I shouted: "Here I am, take me..."
While I waited for the next one, some guy came up to me and said: "All this beauty, you might have to close your eyes..."
When the bus arrived, the conductor told me: "I've been thinking about you lately..."
By the time I arrived in town, I was thinking: "One question, what can't be done?"
I saw someone I knew, so I waved to get their attention and called: "Went to the movies, wonder what I like..."
I went into a cafe and ordered: "In my dreams, I see myself hitting a baseball..."
A charity worker asked me for a donation, and when I said no they said: "Do I attract you, do I repulse you with my queasy smile?"
Some guy/girl started flirting with me, and said: "She is a diamond, I am a stone..."
To which I replied: "We get it on almost every night..."
Then their girlfriend/boyfriend appeared and screamed at me: "My friend she told me such a story but she didn't know what I knew..."
But before I ran away, I yelled this in return: "Baby you've got me thinking..."
I only just caught the bus in time, and sat down thinking: "Silver birch against a Swedish sky..."
Some kids were playing their music really loud, so I turned round and said: "You lit me up and then I fall for you..."
Someone sent me a text which read: "I'm sitting on the roof of my house..."
As I walked home, I tripped over and banged my knee. It hurt so much I said: "Do you think I am sort of alive?"
I had a near-death experience because of it and God said to me: "You have so many relationships in this life..."
Then he asked me what I wanted most and I said: "I have such envy for the stranger lying next to me..."
When I got home, my hamster said: "In one more hour, I will be gone..."
I went to bed, and the last thing I thought was: "One morning, before the leaves began changing..."

With your player still on shuffle, list the next 10 artists that come up (no repeats):
    #1: OK Go
    #2: The Temper Trap
    #3: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
    #4: Mew
    #5: Isan
    #6: The Hush Sound
    #7: Florence + the Machine
    #8: Redcar
    #9: Deas Vail

Now answer these questions (without shuffle).
Out of these, which is your favorite band?: (At the moment) Redcar.
Have you ever seen #4 in concert?: Nope. I wish.
Do you own any merchandise by #9?: Yup, got their 3rd(?) album (Birds & Cages). Oh, and a sticker. c:
Have you met any members of #2?: Sadly, no.
Do any of your friends like #10?: I haven't really asked.
If #1 was to do the soundtrack for a film, what would the film be about?: I'm thinking a "hip-college-guy-trying-to-clean-up-his-act-to-get-the-girl" kind of film.
What's your favorite song by #8?: 'Long Sleeves (Anne Marie)'
What's your favorite album by #3?: The Amadeus Soundtrack. O___o
When/where was the first time you heard #7?: A Youtube collab channel intro-song deal.
What do you like about #6?: Happy, poppy-sounding songs.
How long ago did #5 form?: Not sure...

Put your player on shuffle again and list the first 10 SONGS (and artists) that come up.
    No song repeats.
#1: No Age - Teen Creeps
    #2: Northern State - Rewind
#3: Kap Bambino - Hungry Texas

    #7: 12 Rounds - Something Burning
#8: Cut Copy - Out There on the Ice
#9: Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies
#10: Maria Taylor - Leap Year

Out of these, which song is your favorite?: 'Leap Year.'
If you had to choose one, which would you play at your funeral? Why?: 'Glósóli' - because it has a slow, mellow... depressing beat - perfect for any funeral.
How about as a first dance at your wedding? Why?: 'No Sunlight' because it's the perfect ice breaker: "Hey, do you like the song? .. Yeah, it's Death Cab! ... You like them too? ... I was able to see them..."
How does #1 make you feel?: Okay... ?
Does #9 remind you of anyone?: Just my dad, because he likes Fleetwood Mac.
Do you like to sing-a-long to #6?: There aren't many lyrics to "sing along" to... but I try and match Jónsi's sounds and stuff.
Tell me your favorite lyric from #2: It's all pretty cool.
What kind of music is #7?: 90's grunge?
If #8 was used in a movie, what scene would it portray?: Ice skating rink - it's perfect.
Have you got any other versions/mixes of #5?: Nope, just the original.
What is the best part of #10?: Everything!
Does #4 have male or female vocals?: Female.
Has #3 ever been played on the radio?: Not on any of my local radio stations.

  • My Hard Copy CD Collection (as of 10.06.2011)

    21. Jul. 2010, 23:48

My CD collection is probably one of my cherished things... sometimes I just like to stare at the stacks and stacks of CDs plaguing taking up space residing on a bookshelf in my room.

So this is kind of a catalogue for my own use and reference and a sort of show-off thing to show what CDs I own. And yeah, my collection is not the biggest and best ever. But I am proud of it. It's the best and as extensive as a 19-year old kid living in a small city-town can do without the use of her parent's credit card at her fingertips.

    Notes:
    • * - Thrift store digs.
    • CD's that were bought at the particular band's show.
    • Bought before my music maturity, i.e. before era 2005.
    • Played often.
    • Newly added.
    • Personal favorite.
    • CD shop treasures.

    I update this when
    • I get enough new CDs and
    • whenever I get around to update this.
