Über mich

My music tastes run in phases and extremes. I'm just starting into j-pop and visual kei. For quite a long time (around 2004 to 2010), I was a fan of indie and underground (i.e., more indie than indie now that indie is no longer indie) rock and pop. Also, I tend to like music in two styles: acoustic and electronic. (I told you, a fan of extremes.)

Prior to this "indie phase", I was all about "mainstream emo" (2002-2004): Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Saves the Day, and so forth. The transition came, I believe, when Straylight Run finally released their long-awaited debut album, which was such a departure from the mainstream, but I fell so immediately in love with it. Shortly after, I proclaimed that "emo is dead" and started listening to bands such as Great Northern and Okkervil River, thanks to my then-recent discovery of Indiefeed, a "one-song-per-episode" podcast available in several genres, including individual indie rock and indie pop podcasts.
