Albums I didn't get around to buying last year

Rather than a list of what I thought was really good last year (seeing as everyone is doing it, and nothing I list is going to be anything you can't find out about elsewhere) I thought I'd list the albums that were released last year that I wanted to buy, but for one reason or another haven't got around to it yet. This atleast means if no-one else reads this, it will atleast be usefull to me to keep track of what I still need to buy.

The Heat Can Melt Your Brain
The Mendoza LineFull Of Light and Full Of Fire
I only recently discovered all of these, and from what I've heard so far, I would have a lot more than just these albums if I'd heard them sooner.

Two More Years
I'm not shelling out again for an album I already own for one song, but the song is good enough to warrant its own purchase. This is the only single I'm listing, despite wishing I had bought more, most of the others I own on albums, so I only want the singles for the b-sides.

Gomez - Out West
I had no idea they released anything this year, so was quite shocked when I saw it as I was searching through amazon making a list of music that people could buy me for christmas.

Elbow - Leaders Of The Free World
A band I was aware of, but never thought of buying any of their stuff till I heard a live session of thiers that was quite good. (Feel free to mention any other similar sounding bands that I've missed)

Pretty in Black
I really don't know why I haven't bought this yet.

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
It wasn't in the shop when I bought Digital Ash In a Digital Urn!!

Seth Lakeman - Kitty Jay
One of the Mercury award albums that I liked the sound of that I've not got around to buying yet. I think I can live without the others that I've not got, unless someone convinces me Maximo Park live up to the hype, or Polar Bear are as cool as the hair.

The Dead 60s - The Dead 60s
I've not heard enough of them yet so they are still a maybe.

El Presidente - El Presidente
The Paddingtons - First Comes First
I've heard good things, but I've also heard bad things. They are both still on the 'maybe' list.

Feel free to add your comments, and suggest bands I've missed, even if they didn't release anything last year (that rule was mainly there to cut down my list, as a list of everything I haven't got around to purchasing yet would have been a lot longer).

Go out and buy that Elbow album now, and also purchase their Cast of Thousands album as well. If you think you might like them even a little, I'm positive they will *really* grow on you. They've become one of my top bands recently... I just can't help myself from listening to them.

The Decemberists - Picaresque is wonderful! Listen to it!

I've listened to it once, from an online stream of the album, but the record shops where my Parents live are useless. When I'm back at uni I shall pay a trip to Fopp.

IMO, skip the Raveonettes. It's not nearly as exciting as their other stuff.
