    Maybe the resting of players is a good move that will help them to attempt a deep playoff run. Clint Hurdle, most likely unknown outside of Pittsburgh due to the way the MLB is broadcasted, is actually a decent manager. The Pirates are just stuck with some bad players and the moves by the GM have not been so great right now, even during the season.

We get injuries you know and then play our scrubs who should even be in the majors, e.g. Steve Pearce. Until the owner goes out and spends, it's going to be increasingly difficult for us to finish the season above .500. Every other team seems to improve in the off season, but not the Pirates so much.

    The Pirates dream of a winning season in 2011 appears to be slipping away. It was fun watching them play good baseball earlier in the year, but now, with stiff competition on the horizon and the pitch staff faltering, it's tough to watch.
