I'm traditionally in the depressive trenches for Feb-April months here on the East Coast. Having survived a boatload of heart surgery I should be happy, but they say people who've had their chests' cracked often succumb to depression in the first year of recovery. I hope new cheer is on its way to you; anyone with as much musical knowledge as your charts imply must have a creative and open mind.

Yes, Howard is cool. I used to hang a bit with Dan Barrett and Howard when they first got to New York. Howard took the place by storm. Dan bought me big whiskies after I'd made my bones jamming at Eddie Condon's old place on 54th. Howard sat in the week after I did, and got a tour with Joe WIlliams immediately thereafter.
