Sorry, perhaps this story needs a bit more context: My friend was meeting up with this girl at a bar I don't go near. I don't know whether he likes this girl or not, but he has told me she has really good season tickets for the White Sox, a team he's obsessed with, so at the very least he was looking to get something out of her. I don't find her attractive. He only invited me because the guy he was supposed to go with blew him off and he wanted the company. I only went because he's my friend. We get there. It's dumb as usual. I hate it. She won't leave me alone. I can't get anyone else to dance with me to get her to fuck off and focus on my friend. My friend is clearly annoyed by the entire situation. I'm clearly annoyed because I didn't want to be there in the first place and didn't mean fuck with his game. So I got the hell out of there.

Todd, this site has significantly heightened my wild craving for rich meaningful music that resonates with authenticity. I was already annoyed by most pop music, but now having to listen to it on the radio (or just knowing that this is what people are being subjected to on the radio) has become offensive. How can the radio deprive people of such meaningful and well written music? But, somewhere within my ego takes a certain pleasure in knowing that my ears are 2 of the few ears that have heard of some of this great stuff. Maybe, just maybe, its not the mainstream media that doesn't choose to play this music on the radio, but the musicians and their fans that try to keep what they have sacred by not selling it out to the mainstream. Yes, I like that point of view. Todd, I can't thank you enough for simply putting your last.fm link on your profile, it has been a gift.

Gosh, The Milk-Eyed Mender is absolutely gorgeous. "En Gallop" is currently my favorite track.

Damn, I wish I had your Itunes library. But, I am finding some AMAZING stuff. Apparently I absolutely love folk music. I would never have known this if I didn't sign up for this.

Oh, and yes, I have quickly become obsessed with this site. I am so happy I clicked on your link on facebook. This has been the greatest internet experience I have ever had so far. I'm lovin' hearing so much great new music. Wish the actual radio was like this. They don't pay me to say this.

Namaste Todd, is there a way to listen to the same group track after track on here? I've been listening to Radiohead Radio and such.. which is flipping awesome by the way.. but sometimes I'm really digging somebody new and want more!

Idk man, don't mean to knock my abilities as a wingman but I think when hunting hipster ass it's an endeavor one must take on alone. Going in solo gives the impression of "independence," or what is more commonly referred to by hipster ass as "indie." Also--last I heard, it was uncool to like the Decemberists, or any band sounding like the Decemberists. Just spreading the word.

It's a pretty recent feature, I think, where you can upload all past plays from your itunes and such. Mine is not entirely accurate however, because for some reason my ipod is really screwy at tracking songs I've played. You can check my actual recent plays under "top tracks: last seven days." Anyway, I freakin' love this site haha. Never expected to. And never expected that last sentence at all, thanks! It goes without saying, but you do too. Feel free to rec me something here anytime, I'll be sure to check it out.

Wasn't our compatibility "HIGH" when you added me? It's at "VERY HIGH" now. Ha, I feel like I'm growing closer to you every day... Micah wrote a review for Bradley Hathaway for SOTS, if you're interested. A Mouth Full of Dust is a favorite of mine, so I'd definitely recommend it, but not sure if you'd like it. More than anything, I wanted to share some writing. I'll be going for Journalism starting next year, with the intent of working for a music publication of some sort, so if you have any comments, it'd certainly be appreciated.

Hey, I wrote two blurbs for two of my favorite albums of 2009 for a music blog that Dion, David, Evan, Max, and I will be running. (They wrote two each as well.) You may have already seen one or more of us whore it out, but I just thought I'd throw a link your way. http://thedecomposedblog.wordpress.com/2009/12/16/twelve-months-ten-albums/

You know what I hate? The dreaded 3am scenario. When you're wide awake, and anything that's going on in the world interesting is so far away from you that it may as well be on the Moon. Meanwhile, you're stuck is your lonely isolation looking up at the stars with naught else to do. Sigh.

Buzz buzz buzz goes the honey bee, and tweedily tweedily twee goes the bird. But the sound of your little voice is sweeter, it’s the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard.
