yeah, God is an Astronaut keep me in a really good mood. I'm learning how to play the piano, and after running exercises it's fun to play along with them. I didn't realize they'd taken Amon's place on the ranks... but then again, I listen to music in waves so I'm sure when the time is right Amon will make a comeback ;)

Hey everything is cool. though i'm already a bit homesick. How r you? Going to Mono's gig this Saturday, very excited about it! I like Geneva, Russian Circles never disappoint. But in my opinion Station is still better anyway. What do you think?

Well hello hello there Karl! I'm doing pretty good here. Just got my new phone so I'll be able to keep in touch quite a bit more often now! It's like having a mini laptop on the go lol. How are you?

Oh, and it sucks that Baroness isn't playing closer to you! :( When it comes to concerts/tours, I'm definitely glad I'm in the US in a somewhat major city.

Yeah, the venue Russian Circles played in was fucking TINY. I was actually really surprised to see them booked there. It's seriously pretty much a garage. The building is very small; there isn't even a stage! The band plays on ground-level! Outside they have a campfire, so it smelled like we were off in the woods somewhere haha. It was actually pretty amazing seeing them somewhere that intimate. I always get right up front at any show at which I can reasonably not be killed in a moshpit, so I was literally standing right in front of Turncrantz's kit. Pretty phenomenal :)

P.S. Just remembered something hilarious. On one of the Russian Circles vids on youtube, somebody made the comment that "Dave Turncrantz is sponsored by Pantene" and then a couple idiots replied "Oh I didn't know that. I do know he's sponsored by...though" haha! I think that's a big component of my current ridiculous musician crush - I'm already a total sucker for long hair, but he's always, ALWAYS got his fan blowing his hair around all dramatically during shows haha

Totally agreed on the "drummers who are different" thing. It's nice to hear innovation. The clunky drums are the one aspect of Pelican that sometimes turns me off. Dave is even more kickass to me because he plays on a ridiculously cute, modest sparkly kit haha! One of the best parts of Friday's show, aside from the music, was when this guy standing next to me (who had never heard RC) saw Brian's huge bass setup and said "whoa this band must be really bass driven" then looked at the drumkit and kinda laughed and claimed "the drums probably suck, though"....hahahhaa was he fucking blown away! That was so awesome. :) As for the hair? You know, sometimes his hair is squeaky clean and sometimes it's horrendously greasy. Maybe it's a touring thing. I'm sure I could coax him into washing his locks for me. hahahaha *is totally deluded*
