hah for all we know the bandcamp songs are also 128.

i guess i will just download that 128 and check it out...i usually dont mind 128kbps rips if it sounds fine enough..i am sure many of the old demos and shit like that that i have are 128..in general i am content with 256 or even 192..but in the case of this album the copy that i downloaded earlier seemed to have a different (and not in a positive way) guitar tone than the songs in the band's bandcamp page which i put down to low bitrate although that's not necessarily the reason..hence the wait for a better rip.

nah man i dont have slsk...never really had it...4 or so yrs ago i had installed it on your insistence and maybe used it for a few days and then chucked it since it took a lot of memory out of my old laptop at the time and since then forgot about it.

yeah i'll wait some more then, although i dont think any other upload will come up anytime soon seeing as how it's been over a month or more already and there's just that one upload.

mind supplying a link to question - doomed passages ? there's still only one link available in the internet that is as low as 128kbps and more importantly the guitar etc sound is quite different from the songs posted by the band in their bandcamp page.

nah, still haven't heard that second themgoroth album. what i heard on youtube wasn't bad, though. i liked those ancient wisdom releases. listened to a bit of the calling and seemed a little generic at times but i hardly gave it a real shot.

Thanks a lot! Those are some that I either don't find at first and keep there as a reminder, some I want to buy and some rare releases I'm still digging to grab.

Only twice, I've missed a couple of their Tampa gigs since they reformed, but I moved to Orlando recently so I'm much closer now.

Saw Brutality again last week, it was killer. They played stuff from When The Sky Turns Black and a few mandatory Screams of Anguish tracks

Hello friend. How have you been? It's been a while. I'm finally getting more time for myself now, since all post-grad stuff are already gone. What have you been listening to? I just got a very good new album, I think you'll enjoy this as well. Check it out: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/The_Wakedead_Gathering/The_Gate_and_the_Key/394187 Seeya!

thanks anyway! something interesting about the death of life demo is that it's apparently not even crypt. the former vocalist/songwriter commented on a blog post i read saying that they never produced such a release.

all but the one from 94, which sucks because a crypt sisters of mercy cover sounds cool. i never thought to check your stuff for it.

yeah of course, a little better sound quality in flac files is clearly observed, but a 320kbps wasnt that much of a compromise either..it certainly didnt make something sound any worse/lower or anything, but then, i am not a habituated flac listener to begin with, so maybe i am not hearing all the flac's goodness...

  • extrememetal999

yeah i had tried the edit tag option in various ways (before asking you) it wasnt doing anything. anyway, i later on downloaded a nice flac to mp3 converter and got all the flac songs converted to 320kbps mp3. sounds the same and you can edit whatever you want haha.

thanks..yeah i am familiar with the said concept of an opera..i guess i should be technically precise and just refer to what i want as "classical with vocals"..saying "opera" initiates the thought of a bunch of things besides simply vocals sung over a simple piano/violin composition, by definition...yeah i had heard the other ave maria by gounod, that was good too, but schubert's just nails it for me..in one of the classical opera compilations that i downloaded from the torrent yesterday, there's a bunch of vocal pieces from various composers of which i heard a handful yesterday and really liked a couple..btw can't the ID3 tags of FLAC files be edited ? that compilation has flac files (not read-only) whose ID3 tags apparently can't be edited and they are all by-default tagged by the names of the vocalists and composers who recorded them for us, not by the names of their original composers tagging whose names in those files is what i'd prefer (helps me remember what's what from who).

namedrop some stuff like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bosouX_d8Y (knew this tune for long but never knew (alias, never really tried to find out) it was a mesmerising piece from schubert...i just downloaded a couple of classical opera compilations from the torrents, but since searching and sifting through classical music is too time and energy demanding a task, i am taking the shortcut and just asking you for some such operatic songs/pieces from the many classical composers you know..in the distant past several times i had tried fruitlessly to browse through and pick up a bunch of such operas but except a handful i never could manage to find out a good number of them (as i said, sifting through classical is a massive task).
