I used to listen them a lot :) My favorites albums are Subterranean, The Jester Race and Whoracle, so yes I prefer when they were doing death metal. For two really close bands I prefer the way Dark Tranquillity has evolved for example. And for the serie, I'm starting Äkta människor (Real Humans) a swedish tv show right now, it looks promising. I like the way their production is totally different from US/UK tv series.

It's true, it takes something to share a story you write. I think you need to feel really comfortable with the person and/or your story, ideally both, to share it. Especially if you put a lot of yourself in it, then the person will be able to read your thoughts and interpret them the way they please... There must be a fine line between the art and the artist. Then there's always anonymous work and pseudonyms :)

You say you have no talent but did anyone read anything you wrote? Because if you're the only judge it's easy to say it's bad (just like it's easy for some people to say their work is awesome :P). The Artist was pretty fun, it was a great throwback to the era where films were silent... I think it surprised a lot of people that it could still work. I like your idea of having zombies creep in on a nice classical story... I thought how it would be possible to now introduce some new things that were never present in old movies but I never thought of zombies. It certainly would be a big project :)

It seems you're the opposite of me then, I write sometimes but I can't really make up stories so it always end up very introspective and I can't ever get a storyline somewhere. I think you should write, the beauty of it is that it can be read just by you... There's no need to dare to write, you can just go for it without any pressure. It could be quite cathartic too. Starting is the worse, it's a step to make and then you go with the flow. Ah, look at me giving advices when I can't write a story :P I guess if I made a movie I'd like it to be like old film noirs, with classy clothes, a nice intrigue and witty dialogues.. but then sometimes I just want to make zombies run around eating people :P I like messy movies, they can be great food for thoughts

Well, very nice, you had quite a hunch about it, I don't even think most of my friends know that I'd love to write a film :P Thanks for the book recommendation, I've put it on my list! It's great that you're interested in it too, I once joined this website called plotbot where you can write and share scripts but I found it pretty dull and never started.. have you had any good experiences on any writing website? What kind of movie would you write? (I know it's a tough question but a genre can give an idea) I also pondered whether it's best to write and novel and then adapt it or write a screenplay right away... I'm a little ahead of myself since I haven't written any but just I'm asking away here, hope you don't mind :)

Actually, I have, it's funny you're asking. I thought I'd love to write a script some day but I never had any proper training... It's something I might do some day. What about you? How come you asked :)

I agree that a lot of new horror movies are just about blood and gore, I admittedly find nothing wrong with that and even enjoy a great deal of them, but I see them as fun and not really horrific. What you say about Rosemary's Baby is true and the paranoia is really terrifying... and it leaves you that way long after the movie is over. They are rare movies, but it's still possible to find those! When I mentionned american horror I was more thinking of the likes of Amityville horror (the big house and windows imagery in the drawings!). Sorry for all the rambling, I talk about movies way too much :P
