• Hmm.

    22. Aug. 2008, 3:58

New laptop. 80 gigs of memory. I can play music on my harddrive again (instead of my zune), so I can scrobble more often =].
Can't promise it'll last. I'm notoriously unreliable. I'm hoping I'll stick around, though.
  • It's only blatantly apparent

    9. Mär. 2008, 12:20

That my scrobbling has pittered to near-nothing.

I'm still listening to music, it's just less of a hassle to listen on my Zune =].

I invested in an external hard drive and have a somewhat respectable 30 gigs or so. It's grown so much X].
Unfortunately, it's a pain in the ass sometimes. So I don't screw with it if I don't have to.

Furthermore, I don't spend near as much time at a computer as I used to. College does that to you, I suppose.

So enjoy my depressingly lacking new charts and watch for their return spike come May or so =P.

BY THE BY, I music whored today. New albums include:
Songs of Sex and Death (ordered)
    The Supernatural Parlour Collection (ordered)
    Sombre Romantic (ordered)
    NOLA
    Pogue Mahone
Broken (one I've needed for a while)
    Zerospace

Nearly bought a Meat Puppets album but... I'd already spent much too much <___<. I'm somewhat worried that I won't have the money to pay for a passport. Which I need if I ever plan on journeying to Norway.
  • My apologies!

    12. Sep. 2007, 0:14

I moved into the dorms mid-to-late August and, obviously, couldn't bear to leave my computer (read: music collection) at home. I've got a small-but-respectable 16 gigs built up on this thing, I couldn't abandon it...

But, knowing me, I left the power cord at home. Ohboy, I'm a bright cookie.
Didn't get a new one until yesterday =P.

So! Sorry for the decayed charts. They're sad, I know. Better music will return momentarily ^__^.

  • Missouri is for losers

    22. Jan. 2007, 11:32

We had a major ice storm a little over a week ago and lost power for a few days. That wasn’t too bad (ever played drinking games by candle light? XD), but internet was out until earlier today (9 days). Rather boring, let me tell you -_-.

I don’t know if my tracks will scrobble or not =/. Obviously some already have, but I had a ton more than that. Does the cache reset once the computer restarts? =/

There’s supposed to be another ice storm on the way, so if I go missing again, that’s probably why XD. Good to be back – again.
  • Back from Kentucky

    12. Jan. 2007, 10:20

Actually I've been back for a week and a half now, just didn't realize my scrobbler was switched off =/.

No big difference, I've mostly been listening to soundpedia, anyway XD. Primarily XO and Pornography. There's been a ton of The Downward Spiral and As the Roots Undo, as well, but that's mp3player-related, so it wouldn't be counted here anyway.

Slightly before leaving for Kentucky I managed to catch a The Human Abstract show -- it turned out brilliant. Their guitarist baffles me. I can't imagine moving my fingers that quickly.
Granted, I don't know guitar theory, so he could have been playing something which required absolutely no talent =P. Regardless, check them out. They were touring under The Devil Wears Prada, but don't let that fool you, they're above the metalcore movement =].

Bought a book entitled "I Hate Myself and Want To Die: The 52 Most Depressing Songs You'll Ever Hear".
Witty and sarcastic, just how I like it XD. If you happen to see it, read a passage or two, the author has a great sense of humor.

  • Guess the Song ^2

    25. Sep. 2006, 6:43

30 random lines of lyrics, 30 artists. You tell me which lyric is which song by which artists. I'm sure you've played before =P. Once again, cutting out non-English songs (and some local bands, to be fair).

    1. Something inside the cards I know is right, don't wanna live somebody else's life (Red Hot Chili Peppers - "I Could Die For You")

    5. Mary Jayne I'm getting so fed up with all the shit that everyone keeps handing me

    6. There's a shield around us, it's invisible and soundless, and we drink too much and fuck too soon (Casiotone for the Painfully Alone - "Young Shields")

    11. These motives seem so long forgotten so please remind me why I'm in this chair again (Funeral Diner - "Shifting")

    12. Mouth the words to deny, deny the symptoms, as 'oh yeah I'm doing fine' (Circle Takes the Square - "Kill The Switch")

    13. Now you see me getting better, I'm right here on display, and I'll make it a bit heavier by going all the way

    14. Tina! Tina! Tina! Tina! Out of the flames, a piece of brain in my hair (M83 - "Don't Save Us From the Flames")

    15. It's more than love, and it's less than love, it's what I gave to you

    16. Milk man sleeps on the roof in the noon, banana stabbed to the arms, weird man (Deerhoof - "Milk Man")

    23. One of these days you'll break me of many things, some cold white day, but you're crazy if you think I would leave you this way (Saetia - "Closed Hands")

    24. She died long before that day, I know this tortured, grieving heart of mother no longer knew her own being

    25. Don't fret precious I'm here, step away from the window, go back to sleep (A Perfect Circle - "Pet")

    26. Spent all night in a broken car, my broken self hasn't come too far (Smile Empty Soul - "Meaningless")

    27. Walking home with the snow it is falling down, passing by lit windows, the people inside they wave from the glow (Eisley - "The Winter Song")

    1) favourite song by 4?
I like most of One Fell Swoop a lot, but my favorite is probably either Self Conclusion or The Dutch Courage.

    2) how many times have you seen 5 live?
To see CTTS live would be AMAZING.

    3) good memory of 10?
They remind me of the Undead Poet's Society XD

    4) how did you discover 6?
Miranda. I had heard of them loads before, though, through Evanescence and Shinedown.

    5) first song heard by 1?
    Locked Away (from Sleepy Buildings)

    6) favourite song by 7?
Marvelous Things, I Wasn't Prepared, or Head Against the Sky

    7) mood 3 puts you in?
    Contemplative and mellow... Relaxed =].

    8) how many times have you seen 1 live?
    Never =[

    9) what band do you associate with 8?
Smile Empty Soul. I discovered both of them at my first concert. I also associate the both of them with Evanescence =P.

    10) which song of 2's makes you sad?
    Ah. All of them. =P

    11) who was 5 recommended to you by?
I have no idea, actually.... I think I was browsing the "which elitist band do you despise" thread in some group and sniping cool bands from that =P.

    12) favourite album of 2?
Vol. 1 is the only album out, as of yet. New album coming soon, though =].

    13) how did you discover 10?

I guess it's been about a month or two now =P

    16) song of 8's that you could listen to on repeat foever?
City Beneath. Actually, I could repeat that entire album forever and never be bored of it. Revis are one of the few bands I consider flawless =].

    17) favourite lyric of 5?
Oh hell, CTTS have the most amazing lyrics. Overstated, pretentious shit to some, I'm sure, but I love all of them =P.
"And so we ran, like the wolves were biting,
the inhibitions of their prey kept them from screaming
'scratch my back and I will stab you in yours'
so I chose to live this life alone, without the teeth marks
but I predict, I'll have to sink my fangs in someone else's heart to heal my own."

    18) do your friends like 4?
I don't think any of my friends know them.

K, you guys are used to this game by now. Media player on shuffle, first line or two of each of 30 songs. I'll mark out the lyrics as they're guessed. For simplicity's sake, I'll skip songs in languages other than English. Go!
