Heading for a new genre to satisfy my musical requirements, two tiny words passed by: post-rock

I found the words at a narrow, almost invisible, turn on my way on the unclear speedway of more famous artists. At first sight, I hardly paid attention to them but they settled down in the back of my head.

The next time it wasn't the tag post-rock which first came to my mind but rather it was Sigur Rós drawing my attention to bands of this genre. I really fell in love with Sigur Rós the last months. So it was merely a matter of time until I browsed through the big, wide post-rock world.

The "narrow turn" then emerged as a huge, so to speak, parallel universe. I listened and listened… and I found some beautiful "rest areas" on my way through all the different types of post-rock. Just to name some of them:

Explosions in the Sky
This Will Destroy You
God Is an Astronaut
Eluvium

Right now I'm "seeping" down into the deeps… getting to know more unknown artists like Caspian, Gregor Samsa or Amiina.

The cause of calling this blog entry "Retiring" is, that I feel like I'm retiring. Retiring from a fast-paced ride through some types of music and through myself, too. For a while I think I'll be satisfied. I found what I was looking for.
