Hi, Matt. Thank you so much for accepting my friend request. Now I'll feel less creepy snooping around in your big, excellent library. Last claims erroneously that my compatibility with said library is low, but I don't scrobble here - just using the service to discover new music. Since we share a number of favorites, I'm looking forward to listening to some of the new-to-me music here (sure is plenty of that!).

Reminds me of Willard Grant Conspiracy and Lambchop too... you could try 'The builders and the butchers' maybe 'Vampire Lake'? And Jim White's, 'Still Waters'

Yeah, I see what you mean about Mr Clements' voice but the klezmer vibe is nice. You might like Bad Luck City, try the song 'Bones', it's their best. Painted Saints, Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots/Munly try 'Denver Boot/DB Redux', 'Leavening of the spit-bread girls' and 'Dar He Drone', Salter Cane, Pinetop Seven 'June' and Great lake Swimmers, particularly 'Your rocky spine' and 'I became awake'. Oh, and Denver Broncos UK can't play on here but listen to 'Fight Song' on their Mysp@ce page... wonderful!

That Sheffield group is odd... people from Sheffy keep looking at my profile hahah! I love The Handsome Family so much. Brett and Rennie are such sweeties. I went to the Leeds show cos it was on a Friday, wish I gone to the Sheffy one cos the atmosphere/sound wasn't great + I hate Brudenell as a venue. Talked to Rennie for ages tho (poor woman!) about spaceships, frilly undies, living in N. Mexico and cats. She is hilarious... Not surprised you are a tired dad with two kids. I take my hat off to you!

How do. I don't suppose you're involved with any promoters up in your neck of the woods are you? We're looking to hit the road in July. Enjoyed looking up Rumpus by the way. Sim Fashoda

I shall partly disappoint you I'm afraid, mainly the idea behind it was what interested me, the absolute ridiculous notion that the two mightiest nations on earth almost went to war over the tiniest insignificant piece of land in Africa. It does sound very cool though. And once people learn to pronounce it, they rarely forget.

Very kind of you. You are quite correct about the incident, it was an incident at first, but now it's a crisis. Bloody inflation for you. Can't believe you studied it at school, no-one's ever heard of it. Education system in Sheffield must be top notch. Thanks again. Sim Fashoda

Über mich

I listen to loads of old rubbish - which I love - write the odd review for soundsxp.com and make the occasional excursion to gigs in Sheffield.
