    20. Nov. 2007, 10:55

I just wanted to let you folks know about the Electronicast podcast, its produced by last fm user uksnowy and features some of the best unsigned and independent artist that hes found while searching the intertwat.

Kindly, uksnowy has included a few of my tracks in the podcasts, one of which is a tune not available on last fm, its called Massive Ambient Face and is quite a chilled little number.

All the artists on the podcasts are just quality though and I highly recommend that you give them a listen, hence the need to knock up this journal to let folks know......Go on download away.......and let snowy know what you think.

  • Does anyone fancy winning a copy of SK123's Zeolites or Soundwave on CD ?

    12. Nov. 2007, 16:29

A little while ago now I donated a few copies of Soundwave and Zeolites to uksnowy who produces the Electronicast Podcast.

Snowy kindly included a couple of my tracks on his first two podcasts, so I returned the favour by donating the cd's to be given away in a competition.

Well it looks like those CD's are still about, hey maybe people just dont want them :( but all the same I thought I would give you good folks on last fm a poke to see if you fancy winning a copy. I only made about 20 copies in the end so these are strictly limited edition :)

    The question was:

What did I use to name the tracks on the Zeolites Album ? (with the exception of 'Low Tar and the Ridge of Doom' which was born after a drunken night at the poker !!!)

Hint: All the track names are related to something, just what is it.

There is 2 copies of Zeolites and 2 copies of Soundwave available and if you are the only entry then you might get both (or all of them lol)

I recommend that you all check out the excellent unsigned artists that snowy has unearthed by listening to his podcasts.

You can get the podcasts from here....
    Electronicast Main Site

Send me a mail with the answer and i'll reply to let you know if you are correct or not. When / If all 4 have gone then i'll post in this journal the end of the competition.

    Cheers

  • Indiestore

    27. Mär. 2007, 1:43

I've decided to make a couple of my latest tracks available exclusively on indiestore. Typically i would make everything available for free download off last fm, however, i've only just recently put my Soundwaves album on here and would rather release these when there is a bit more material to go with them.

So the tracks; Texploitation and Massive Ambient Face, Texploitation was recorded in one live session with a bit of knob twiddling and fader sliding, its twelve minutes long and is tech all the way.

Massive Ambient Face is a mellow little number with a very boards influenced lead ;) Similar to Cash Cow off Soundwave with a touch of glitched out drums.

    Anyway hope you enjoy.
    Cheers Steve

  • Claytrack - A late night session.

    10. Feb. 2007, 20:26

A productive late night session in the studio produced this deep dark techno number Dugout. A collaboration of SK123 and Wayne D'Mellow working under the pseudonym of Claytrack. Enjoy...
  • Soundwave by SK123

    3. Feb. 2007, 19:15

My new SK123 album 'Soundwave' is available now to download off last fm. It consists of 8 new tracks that cover various electronic styles; so here is a small breakdown of the tracks.

    1. Broken Registry Flusher.
This is an IDM influenced mash up, it starts slowly, gets a bit dirty and then calms down again, in the same style as Zeolites it continues onto....

    2. Steel Pipe Thread.
An electo(ish) number that gets a bit glitchy at the end.

    3. Mobility Cookie Redirection.
A mellow four to the floor techno number, goes on a bit but hey i like it ;)

    4. Connect Transducer.
This continues on from Mobility Cookie but is a little bit more minimal. I've been loving my tech recently ;) so i just couldn't help myself.

    5. Trademark Grin.
This is my attempt to do something Amon Tobin'esq but at 90 bpm instead.

    6. Cash Cow.
I love this, dont know why its just got a really nice feel to it, a mellow IDM/BigBeat cross that moves into...

    7. Soundwave.
A dirty techno number with a growling android sounding synth, its not a vocoder but i'm sure i hear it saying something at times :)

    8. Tregeare.
This was originally part two of a really nasty drum and bass number, at the last minute i have decided to pull the d'n'b track as its just a bit horrible (i love it but it is way too hectic compared to the rest of the album) but i did decided to leave the end part as a track in its own right, not much to it really, a human beatbox, some strings and a wind chime.

I have to mention the artwork, but more importantly the artist who made it, Gahn. Gahn is an old friend of mine who has been getting to grips with 3D modelling in the last 6 months, he's created this fantastic 3D model of soundwave from a toy that i had (yes i still have my boxed transformer's sad eh! lol). In no time at all and amongst working other projects, Gahn has knocked up this cracking album cover. We had a little session last night and finished it off and it looks quality i'm sure you'll agree. Thanks Gahn for all your help, it was most appeciated :)

If you want to check out more of Gahn's work you can visit his deviant art page at
    Gahn
or leave him a message on last fm at Gahn.

Also a shout needs to goto Jess Latham & BV FONTS for there excellent fonts that we used last night for the logo, check out the fonts
    here for more details.

    Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

  • Free Electonica Albums on Last FM.

    2. Nov. 2006, 20:31

Isnt it cool that Last FM now has the download server running, since i bought my ipod i must admit that i have neglected the old last fm player a bit and havent been able to pay as much attention to the unsigned and extremely talented artists here on last fm.

Well thats all changed in the last week or so, i've been able to stock up the old ipod with some truely amazing artists, such as the 'quite unbelivable how he doesnt have a record contract' HipGnosis, the tripped out world of Metricks, the even more fucked up world of Macadamia ;) the soothing sounds of e.p. hall, the chilled out 'get lost in my coding problem' music of Jap Jap and the funked up quality jazz stylings of the Sicilian AV Project

Dont you just love it. I highly recommend getting these for yourself before you have to buy them at your local record store.

BTW Zeolites is also available for complete download so help yourself :)

  • SK123 Zeolites Limited Edition (only 123 copies) CD available to buy.

    3. Sep. 2006, 23:24

Ive made Zeolites available to buy on CD, However, I am limiting the number of copies to 123 ;)

The packaging is quite nice if i dont say so myself, and each one is printed with its number (sk123.xxx/123) on the CD/front/back and inside labels. Once the 123 copies have gone then there will be no more available.

None of the tracks are available to download at the moment, but you can listen to it all in full on last fm.

So check out the album and if you like what you hear on last fm, why not pick up a rare bargain ;)

Heres a direct link to the ebay site.

  • Zeolites by SK123.

    16. Aug. 2006, 16:09

I've been busy in the studio again.

The new album is called Zeolites
It consists of all new tracks but in a continuous mix, its best listened to sequential order, However, because I am putting it onto last FM i've split it into 9 separate tracks.

Each track should be able to stand up in its own right but it makes more sence when listened to in one go (ha, yeah as if thats going to happen) but there will be a playlist available for such a purpose.

    The tracks are as follows
    1. Gland Nut Pliers
    2. Dog Earing Pliers
    3. Low Tar and the Ridge of Doom
    4. Oxygen Atoms
    5. Goose Neck
    6. Chattering Governer
    7. Brazed Joint
    8. Down Draft Divertor
    9. Stepdown Transformer

Its covers a host of styles from Ambient to IDM to Dub, with some others thrown in for good measure.

Its ready to import but importing is down for a few days, so its should be up by the weekend.

Probably by then Zeolites (Part 2) would be finished but that will come later.

Addition: I finished the second part after all and have included it in the submission, the extra tracks are.

    10. Back Pressure
    11. Macerator
    12. Tiliting Fillet
    13. Smoke Tester
    14. Snifting
    15. Shrunk Rubber Joint
    16. Anode

    Hope you enjoy.

    Cheers
